It sounds like the camera shake/blur warning.

You might have the camera set to an inappropriate 'scene' mode. If you are using 'landscape' or 'snow' for an indoor or night shot for example, the camera will select a slow shutter speed which will increase the chance of blur - hence the warning.

If you keep the selector switch all the way to the left (auto mode) you should be fine in most situations. Only use the 'scene' modes for specific purposes.

Sounds like the warning of low shutter speed end therefore the tanger to get "hanshake" blur captured. Use flash if possible or highter ISO setting or steady hands ;)

It flashes green green green red red green. the red flashes are very quick. Also the lense is stuck out and will not go back in.

keep the camera on with full battery charge, hold the camera in your left hand and whack the base with your right hand, switch on and off the camera immediately, this will if the lens has got misaligned due to knock etc

What setting do I use to shoot close up (macro) pictures of my items?

1) switch camera to "on"
2) Using the fwd, back etc control switch, located to the right of the screen, set it to "macro"
This is the left hand side of the ring switch. (back arrow). The macro icon (looks like a flower icon)will appear in the viewfinder in the top left hand corner.
3) to cancel macro, press this "back arrow" again.Or switch the camera to off.

Canon ixus 65 - when taking a shot without the flash on, a red camera icon appears on screen and the shot is usually blurry. Why?

When hand-held shooting, shaking will cause blurry. So when the shutter speed below 1 / 60 second the vibration warning will appear, open the flash, up shutter speeds, vibration warning disappeared.

Red hand

I got on to the Nikon website about this problem and I was advised that it was caused by the flash being switched off. I hadn't realised that the flash could be turned on or off - though itt was automatic. Anyway I restored all settings to default and the flashing red had disappeared.

Red dot

I suspect that your intsructions might help you find out what this red dot indicates. I have had customers send their cameras in for service complaining about a dark rectangle in the lower right hand corner of their Olympus cameras' LCD. Turns out it was the exposure "burst" counter.
