Software for importing videos from canon mv650i to windows xp

I am not sure which softward I need to import videos from my camcorder to PC. I have moviemedia and nero but they don't seem to work. I have downloaded the canon digital video solution disk but this only seems to work with images and not movies.

I would like to transfer the videos taken from the Canon DC-51 to my laptop so that I can edit the videos. Could you tell me how this can be done? I'm using a USB cable to connect the camera to the...

Hi, the Videos can be imported directly by connecting the Camcorder to the USB port of the Computer.

Windows 7 directly imports the Video from the Camcorder, if the Camcorder is not detected in the computer then it requires Drivers which will be available from the Camcorder manufacturer website.

The imported Videos can be edited with Windows Movie Maker application which is pre-installed with Windows 7.

Video files don't upload

Windows XP? Are you using windows movie maker (WMM) to import them? I begin by copying the ".mod" files to my computer off the flash card which I insert into my printer. THe software Canon provides is useless. Next I change the file extension to ".MPG". Next open WMM, import video file, but when it starts doing so choose cancel. I don't know why that is. If you let it continue the import it seems to lock up. It will then let you drag and drop that video clip onto a movie.

I need to import video from my canon zr500 to my pc

Hi!

You can import videos from your camcorder to your PC using a DV cable. Check this page from the user guide of your camcorder.

Basically, you need a firewire port and a DV cable. Most computers (new ones) already have firewire ports (or 1394 ports).

I hope that helps.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Downloading videos

Use USB cable to connect your device to your computer and you should have a software installed in your computer to be able to capture videos from the tape inside on your camcorder. This software will edit and save what you have been recorded and captured. If any question just ask me. thank you for using fixya, hope that helps you!
