M-Audio Keystation 49e keys not working on GarageBand, over Snow Leopard in a MacBook Air. Worked fine with the older XOS. Now only volume, pitch and modulation controls are working. Any ideas? Thanks!

No, but you might try loading parallels and then running the older XOS on that.... its worked for me with other applications

Thanks, I've been searching and seems to be a general and common issue, but is not an OS conflict. Hope some news come soon.

SOURCE: Macbook Black

Hello yang2699tlk,
Try this instead of using your Leopard Disc.

  1. Immediately after the "bong" press and hold down "Command + S".
  2. Wait for blinking cursor and then type fsck -y (exactly like that).
  3. If you receive an "Appears to be OK" then type reboot and hit the return key.
  4. If you receive a "Disk has been modified" then repeat the fsck -y command until you get an "Appears to be OK" then type reboot and hit the return key.

This set of commands entered in "Single User Mode" will repair your disk. If this does not work remove the hard drive, plug it into another Mac and transfer your data to a different computer. Then install a new hard drive and reinstall Mac OS X.

Hope this helps, don't forget to vote. Thanks.

Click the Apple menu (upper left corner). Click System Preferences. Click Mouse. Un-check "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding control." See if that fixes the problem. I assume you're using the mouse, not the trackpad. If you're using the trackpad, click Trackpad in System Preferences instead. Un-check "Pinch open and closed" under Two fingers.

Good luck. Let us know if this solves your problem.

Macbook air is locked and i don't know how to reset it?

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Helvetica} Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

If you are referring to locked in regards to your user administrator account, all you have to do is take your Mac OS X installation disc and run the Password Reset utility to reset your password and gain access back into your Macbook Air once again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

BOOT TO TIGER/LEOPARD or SNOW LEOAPRD DISK-
• Place your installation Disk (Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard) into your drive and
allow it to load.
• Restart your Mac
• As soon as you hear the Apple Chime, press the "C" key on your keyboard
and hold it.
• You will see a White Screen, Grey Apple first, do not release the C key until you
see a Spinning gear.
• Once you see that Spinning gear, release your C key and allow the disc to
continue loading

- RESETTING ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD-
(Works for both Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard))

• When the booting to the Mac OS X disc is completed, you will now be in the
Installer environment
• Enter to next page, look up on upper left corner you should see "Installer" near
the Apple menu.
• Two spaces over you should see Utilities. Click Utilities>Reset Password.

• Select your user name from the drop down list and reset your password.

• When you are done, simply exit the Reset Password and Installer and reboot.

• At the Login window, enter your new password and you should be back into your home profile.

Let me know if this helps!

Thanks!

The piano wizard software won't recognize keyboard

you should go to your  utilities --> audio midi setup and make sure your system is recognising your midi device. Play around with your midi settings, see if you can get something going.
Otherwise the problem maybe with the software clashing with Leopard. Double check on the manufactures website that their software is compatible with 10.5.6, or they may have an update for you.
Thirdly you could check if you keyboard is working correctly by opening garage band and making a new software instrument track, press record and see if you get any thing.
Good Luck hope this helps.

M-Audio keystation 49e stopped working

You can order both boards from our repairs department and return the one that is not needed. The main board goes for $20 and the velocity board for $14. 626-610-2529, Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm Pacific Time."

I just found this in the M-Audio forums. I've just called the number and left a message at M-Audio requesting a callback. I'm really hoping that tech support will have a solution for whatever is causing this malfuntion. . . I'll post here again when the parts come.
