The method that worked for me, was descrined in:

http://www.fixya.com/support/t5656017-brother_8360p_faxes_in_memory_but_will

holding clear while turning the machine on, cleared all the faxes that were stored in received memory. (if you're looking to clear other types of memory, this probably won't work for you)

Brother 8360p has faxes in memory but will not print them. All the faxes ar going into the memory now. It has paper and toner, check by making a copy. the menu 2 5 4 fax command doesn't do anything,...

I have seen a few Brother faxes do this. I fixed them by turning off the power, holding down the clear/stop button and keep holding it down while you turn the power back on. Keep holding it for a few seconds then release. This will clear what ever is in the memory that is locking up the memory print. Note: you will lose any received faxes in memory by using this procedure.
This may help you restore your fax to a operation condition.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Hi - it says on the display printing online but nothing is happening

Turn off the power, hold down the red clear/stop button while turning the power back on. This should reset whatever has locked up the printing memory.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

I received a brother 8360p from our other office but when i plug in the power cord to the outlet it does not turn on. I do not see an actual on/off switch either. Am i missing a step?

They don't have an on / off switch. Many fax machines don't.

Simply unplugging and re-powering up a machine will cause the power supply to fail. Not unheard of.

Brother FAX 8360P comm.error

It could be line noise on the phone.., which allows phones to work ok, but causes problems with faxes. See this document from the brother website concerning comm.error:

http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/ca/en/faq/faq/000000/000100/000067/faq000167_000.html?reg=us&c=ca&lang=en&prod=fax2800_us&Cat=11

Would recommend having the phone company run a line check to make sure the phone line is clean of interference !

Brother fax machine 8360p

It seems that someone has sent a large fax that has filled the memory. What they may have done is accidentally programmed one of the buttons to send to #342. This is easily done, if those keys are pressed and then an empty program button is pressed right after. You will have to remove the program from the que 1st of all, then remove the program from the button.

Can I divert to another number?

To diver the number itself is a function of the phone company itself via an optional service called "call forwarding". Cost is only a few dollars a month, depending on your provider. Alternatly, you can use a function called "fax forwarding". In this mode, your fax machine will accept the incoming fax into memory and then dial the predefined number of the fax machine on which you wish to receive it on. Look in your manual for "fax forwarding". If you do not have your manual you can download it from: http://www.brother-usa.com/Manuals/Default.aspx Let me know if this solves the problem or you need additional assistance Ed
