Hi
A friend of mine asked me to help formatting her Dell Latitude 820 laptop, since it was so full of viruses she couldn't even start it up. She gave me a pack of never opened system-CD/DVDs that came with the computer. However, after formatting and installing a fresh OS, some important drivers are lost and I can't find them on the CDs or on Dell's homepage. Most important, I can't connect to the internet so I have tried to download drivers via another computer, to a USB-stick. Doesn't help, still a lot of yellow ?s in the Dell... The CDs say they belong to the Inspiron-series, does this matter? She claims these are the only CDs she has. She leaves for Germany soon (I live in Sweden) so I have to fix this asap.
Thanks in advance!

Yes it matters! You need to go to www.support.dell.com and select "I'm looking for drivers and downloads". If you don't have the proper version of Adobe you will be prompted to install it. Once installed return to "drivers and downloads" and enter the "service tag",(serial number) of the 820 laptop. Dell keeps a listing of drivers for every customer's computer they sell.
