I recently purchased a Seiko Chronograph Water Resist 100 M watch with the alarm function. I can not figure out how to set the alarm. Can you help me out? Tom
1. Pull the crown to the 2nd "click" (the possition you adjust the time) (Carefull: The seconds hand has to be on "12") 2. Press repeatedly button "B" to set ALARM hands to the time indicated by the main time hands (The ALARM hands move quickly if button B is kept pressed) 3. Push the crown to normal possition 4. Pull the crown to the 1st "click". 5. Press repeatedly button "B" to set the desired alarm time. (The ALARM hands move quickly if button B is kept pressed) 6. Push back the crown in to normal position.
At the designated time the alarm rings for 20 seconds, and it is automatically disengaged as it stops. To stop it manually, press button A or B.

Without the watch model it is hard to help you set the watch. Some Seiko watches use the watch stem which has two positions. Sometimes it is hard to identify the indentations so you may want to pull the stem all the way out then carefully push the stem to the first indentation. This will activate the alarm until it is pushed all the way in. When it is in the alarm on position, you can use the buttons to set the alarm time. However, I have 10 Seiko watches, and they are all unique to their functions, so it is best that you go to the link below and put the caliber code from the case back and look at the instructions. http://www.seikowatches.com/support/ib/index.html
pull the crown out to the first click press the reset chronograph button until the hands on the small alarm dial start to move.set the alarm time press the crown back!
Many of the Seiko Chronographs have the same setting options (mine is the lightweight "Titanium Sports").
First off, the alarm dial must show the same time as the actual
main dial. If not you must adjust this first.
Pull the knob at number 4 position on the watch face out, until you feel two distinct notches/clicks (around 0.5mm travel) and the alarm will make a shrill buzzing for about 1 second.
Now turn the #4 knob to move the small alarm dial at the #6, to be the same as the actual time displayed on the main face,
and press the #4 knob fully back in. This sets the alarm and the main time to the same ....er....time. You do not need to do this again, unless you adjust for daylight saving times during summer/winter.
Now you can set the alarm chime point.
Pull the #4 knob out again, but just one click. You should hear one ping from the alarm. Now press the button at #8 position. It will move the small alarm hands by 1 minute intervals, and if you keep it held in, the dial spins around quickly. This allows you to adjust the time the alarm will chime.
When you've got the alarm time and it's chime point set, leave the #4 knob at one click out.
If you wish to switch the alarm off simply press the #4 knob back in, and the alarm dial will spin around to the same time as the main dial.To re-enable the alarm pull the #4 out one click again. It's quite simple once you get the hang of it.
DO AMASTER RESET TO YOUR WATCH!PULL FULL OUT THE STEM(CROWN)THEN TURN THE HANDS TO THE RIGHT TIME THEN RESET THE CHRONOGRAPH AND THE ALARM WITH THE TWO BUTTONS(SEE YOUR MANUAL.IF YOU HAVENT TRY TO DOWNLOAD IT FROM ANY SITE OF SEIKO SUPPORT).THEN PUT THE CROWN IN.IF THE PROBLEM REMAINS THE ONLY SOLUTION IS THE SIKO SERVICE!THEY ARE NOT EXPENSIVE AND MAKE GOOD WORK!DONT GIVE THE WATCES EVEN FOR THE BATTERY TO THE MONKEYMAGICIANSGURU JEWELERS THEY ARE WATCH RUINERS!
Solution #3 (Posted by Guest on 5 Mar 08) is spot on. Quick and easy method to reset the chrono hands (it was not in my Seiko manual).
Interestingly, this can also be used to set the chrono ahead (or behind--with a little math) for offset timing measurements.
just purchased a 20yr old seiko chrono with alarm. Cant figure out how to set the alarm either. Please help someone?
