This unit is aprox. 14 years old with never a problem in the past. When water is poured into the unit, you can hear the heating element begin heating the new water in the tank. In the past you could hear the water being heated to a certain temp and the cut off. Now it just continues to heat the water in the tank until the water starts to boil out of the unit. Do you have a suggestion as to what part needs to be replaced?

Well step one didn't do it. I took it apart and de-scaled tank and thermostat probe and boy did it need it. I would suggest anyone else that has a Bunn with a tank to clean them also. I removed some really ugly stuff. I have ordered a new thermostat and high limit switch and will let you know after the install. Thanks for help.
Step two fixed the problem. Replaced the thermostat, filled the tank and let it heat the water. Tested the temperature and it was great at 198 degrees. I reassembled the unit and ran several pots of water through before making a pot of coffee. I am fixed. A great cup of coffee. I got the parts online at Coffee Wholesale USA and found parts and service manuals at the Bunn website. Thanks for your help.
