push the physical cd drive try button marked EJECT
the PC must be running,
or use the paper clip hole trick. (if PC is dead or tray jammed)

what type of system is this? speaker LED's i am assuming it's an XPS if the system is not starting up but the light is blinking in the speaker then you may have a motherboard issue and have to have that replaced in order for the system to boot. without knowing more about what type of system this is i can not give you an answer that i am sure will resolve your issue

Software can lock the CD drive preventing you from ejecting. If this is the problem, turn off the machine, turn on, when the DELL screen flashes, push the eject button several times and the CD will eject.

If that doesn't work, look for a small hole the size of a paper clip and gently push a paper clip into it. When you meet resistance, the drawer will start to open. You can then pull it open carefully. The computer can be off when you try this.

If neither work, then you might have a jammed CD, i.e. incorrectly inserted. You can try to force the drawer open with your fingers but don't use so much force you strip the plastic gears.

You can go to dell's website support.dell.com to download the firmware of the dvd/cdrom. if you want to knpw the exact model of your drive you can check it at device manager,to dell's website Use your service tag to see the list of the drivers for your system when you go to support.dell.com click drivers and downloads.

all printers are come with a cd.that the cd has the printer driver and troubleshooting software...

So that the troubleshooting software has the information to solve the paper jam problem...

Yes, very easily, you could probably do it yourself. Look underneath the laptop and you'll see a couple of small screwsholding the cd drive in. Undo those, the drive will slide out, then on the label there is a reference label, then go on ebay and search for one. There are always loads of replacement cd drives there.

Or take it to a shop and ask them to replace it.

check for drawer jamming insert a cocktail stick into small hole on cd drawer. could be hardware failure.

You may have a cd jammed in your drive. Switch the computer off and on the front of the CD rom drive is a small hole, if you push a straightened paper clip quite hard into this hole it will open the drawer.

One screw on the bottom holding drive. Take it out, and pull drive.

There is a small hole in the drive, insert a paperclip and push in to eject the drawer manually.. the disk might be stuck and jammed the drive
