righclick my computer then properties then hardware then device manager and expand the audio vedio games controlleor if you see a yellow question mark reinstall the driver
First go online go to HP site and go driver download and puch in the the Product no of your PC it will bring up the entire list of drivers for your PC. Now you need to do a BIOS update than restart the PC. it should work fine and the pop up should not come anymore.
Go into the device manager and uninstall the sound drivers, then reboot the machine. Upon start up it will find new hardware and reinstall the drivers. If this doesn't do it, then you may have blown the sound card or speakers.
hi, when you see the yellow of PCI devices this means you have to check all the cards that connect to your board as PCI, so this could be sound card, vedio card, modem or any pci card, just double check with your pci cards, so if you have pci sound or vedio see if the driver there if not will be one of them, But many times people doesnot recognize that they have extra pci card which could be for usb use, or output devices, etc...
You can try bringing the computer to an earlier point by using a restore point.
Make sure that you dont have your audio muted. Go into your device manager and go to sounds and audio devices (xp; its different for vista). If everything is 'drayed out'...
go into start/run/ [then type] msconfig
Under the tab 'services' look for something that says sound or audio on the far left column. On the far right column make sure it says 'running' if it says 'stoped' thats your problem. If you cant find anything, go to hp.com and download updated drivers.
