SOURCE: looking for a manual for a stihl pole power saw

Your local Stihl dealer can order the manual for you. It might be free or there could be a small charge for shipping. Either way, it's worth having the manual and Stihl WANTS you to have the manual. Be sure to have your model number and serial number with you when you go to the dealer.

SOURCE: I have a Stihl ht101 pole saw that is not oiling

Remove the bar and chain and run the saw. Does oil come out of the side port? If not, check the pump, lines, and in-tank filter. If ok, clean all the holes in the drive end of the bar including the small holes that pass oil to the chain slot. Compressed air helps here. Clean the chain slot. Oil the chain manually after assembly.

SOURCE: stihl ht75 wont start

Is it still under warranty? If so, take advantage. If not, remove the spark plug and check for spark with a clean plug. If nothing, likely the ignition module has died or the stop switch is shorted. If has spark, put some fuel in the plug hole, reinstall the plug and try to start. If runs for a moment, then concentrate on the carburetor and fuel lines. Make sure the primer button pumps fuel into the bulb when pushed several times. Make sure the carburetor is tight to the cylinder and the end plates on the carb are screwed tightly. Make sure the choke plate closes when the control is operated. Check the fuel lines for kinks or splitting. Hope this helps!

How do you get the drive shaft out of the pole on a stihl 101 pole saw?

Bought brand new! I saved up for this product for awhile since they are pretty pricey. I also own acreage in the Midwest so this tool is much needed. I owe 2 older stihl chainsaws and fs70 trimmer. I work sometimes 70-80 hours a week so anytime I have on the weekends to clean up tree damage from storms, etc is precious.

Stihl ht101 pole saw

The unit was not as advertised. Hard to start, runs poorly and won't idle. Had to take it to the local stihl dealership for service.

Stihl pole saw model HT75--Was cutting a limb and the chain stopped cutting--What is the problem?

Could be a few things.

1. Clutch slipping at engine end.
2. Drive shafts have become detached from drive or broken.
3. Clutch behind the drive sprocket on the cutting head may need tightening.
4. Chain too sharp/aggressive and is trying to cut too much and the stopping the chain.
5. Chain too tight.

I rebuilt my stihl ht75 pole saw with a new piston, rings, and housing, all OEM. It won't start now. I confirmed the orientation of the piston, it gets, gas (fresh) and has spark.

theres your problem. air gap on the module is 10 thou not 30 thou. set proper and if that is your only problem then unit will start
