. When I turn on the TV it immediately turns itself off. I'm not sure if this is something that can be easily repaired or if there's no hope for it. It is about 7 yrs old. I checked to see if the fuse needs to be replaced and it is fine
We had a bad storm and lots of lightening. After that my tv (which is plugged into a surge protector) would turn on and then immediately turn off. I unplugged the TV from the surge protector and plugged it into a different outlet and it works now.
It can be repair.replace the crystal 500F2 near the video ic..usually it color is yellow.it either deffective..the x ray protects shutdown the high voltage going to the tube..there is a high current that cut off.when there n othing change try to change the flyback that is connected to the tube of the tv.it can cause tv to turn off itselt when it is deffective..
