I have changed batteries on watches before but none were bulova. I opened the back which you have to do to change battery find what battery you need and order online. I have been able to find at stores year ago but most watches now days people don't change batteries they buy new watches. It is a little harder to find batteries in stores.

If there is a dead battery in the watch, when it is opened, that is one way to identify the battery size.

A second way, if no battery left in it, is to go to a local jeweler or watch battery replacement kiosk at the shopping mall.

This is a 1967 watch. The battery was a 329.

The 329 may come in two sizes,one is high drain, the other low drain. That means there is a question of fit. However, Bulova documentqtion indicates that the places that sell Bulova watches can supply batteries. You might check the Bulova website for a retailer near you and give that a go. If you have registered your watch with the maker, then it is bes to send it to them (talk to them about it first- go to Boluva.com and look for service centers).


The seller would probably just send it off anyway and increase the delay time to gettingit back.

All work should be done by one of their service centers or an authorised dealer, in order that the warranty is not affected.

With a cheap watch the answer would be to remove the back and put it in a warm dry place for a day or so but as yours is not in that catagory, I would not advise any DIY methods.

I know its' a pain to loose your watch for a time but only accredited service agents can guarantee the water resistance it a watch is opened.

If you look at your front dial you should see 30m, 60m, or 100m, if you see one of these numbers it is water proof, so for example 100 meters = 330 feet.

Most of the time you can find the serial and or model number on the first link that is attached to the case of the watch on the back. Often there is a serial number on the back of the case itself. If not in any of these locations you may have to open the case and look on the inside of the case. Be careful with opening case, if you're not comfortable opening the case yourself take it to a reputable jeweler.
If there are no serials on the watch it is probably a knockoff or replica.
