Try changing batteries, it might be that your phones batteries are dead.if not connect to USB and try changing your ROM ( operating system for your phone ) there are various other aspects too. check www.xdadevelopers.com for more info if problem persists after change of battery.
even putting new batteries wont help? It means that your device is not getting power from batteries, in the case check the phone where you put batteries. It it fits goood or not. some metal pin connecting battery might be loose or moved. try to set it straight but do not try hard. please let me know the outcome.

Sim Unlock code and Network Unlock code are same......You can get the Sim Unlock code from the site Theunlockspot.com/htc-8525/rs10wp9/ and Unlock YOUR HTC 8525..........
If it says this message it means that the mobile is unable to read the SIM. You need to keep a small paper folded so that its weight presses the SIM to be detected by the mobile. Hope this works. Otherwise contact your service centre.
There are two ways:
1) If your device is not frozen, navigate to Select Start > Settings
> System > Clear Storage and type in 1234 in the text box. This
will erase everything you installed and restore the phone to your last
ROM flash.
2) If your device is non-functional, press the two soft keys under the
touchscreen (the topmost buttons under the touchscreen) while
simultaneously pressing the soft reset button by inserting the stylus
into the reset port at the bottom of the phone. This performs the same
function as option 1.
I have a small solution to what all of you are having with the black screen. I had the same problem so, what you want to do is keep pressing the power button. You do not turn the phone off, you will just put it in standby mode and then back on. If you keep doing that the screen will turn back on but you can not let the back light go out.
