SOURCE: kenmore sewing machine mod 1703 motor runs but

By 'The wheel the belt is on' you mean the motor pully? If that is so obviously some oil has some how made way on the pully and the belt. Try to remove the belt and clean both wheels and the belt free of oil. This shd slove the problem.

If it doest then please send a photo of the arrangement showing pully and belt. U didnt mention if the machine is old or new. Did u oil it recently before trouble developed?

Kenmore surger wont surge

Does the machine stitch when you turn the hand wheel? Then the belt between the motor and the rest of the machine needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, I can't find the parts list for the 385.15751090. For a different Kenmore serger model, 385.16642090, the belt is no longer available. I suggest you ask your local sewing machine repair person if they have a source for the belt.

I wish that I had better news for you.

Kenmore sewing machine, Model no. 13550

It needs cleaning and oiling! Do NOT run the motor until you get it taken care of or it can damage the motor.

How can I loosen the belt on an old Kenmore model # 117.841?

There are 2 hex head bolts ( 7/16 ) in the back, under the motor. You just have to loosen the screws and lift up on the motor, this will loosen the belt.

Most likely a good clean and oil would be helpful. Sometimes even the motor needs oil.
