Keyboard and mouse pad on my laptop. Acer 5100 vista

On an Acer, the Fn key plus F7 will turn the touchpad on and off.
Try that to see if it works.

Keyboard and mouse stopped working

I would check the Flex cable's first. If keyboard is not working sometimes this does not allow the pad to work. Here is one of the sites I use for repairs. Good luck and have a good day.

Acer aspire 5100

This is generally a driver glitch. You will need to use an external keyboard and mouse, in order to uninstall the drivers for the onboard keyboard and mouse from the device manager, then disconnect the externals and reboot. The machine will find and reinstall the drivers for them automatically. If this doesn't work, then the problem is with the motherboard and you will need to have it serviced.
