We have a 10month old machine and lately its making weak coffee and it sounds as though the grinding mechanism is struggling, add to this its not ejecting coffee grounds into the side container.
we just took every possible removable part off the machine and shook it a little and old grounds came out, but not many, add to this we are getting grounds in the drip tray and water in the container that is meant to catch grounds. We are thinking that somehwere along the line steam or similar got in the machine where it shouldnt be? its currently drying out and we are then rinsing and doing another clean..
fingers crossed, i really dont want to go searching for the reciept. And i want my coffee in the morning!
Any suggestions?

The grind selector knob can be removed with the following steps: 1) Remove screw on side near grinder (do not let the screw fall into grinder, :-) ), 2) use sharp knife or similar to pry off cover with three dots. This should be easy. 3) Now you can rotate the grind selector and see that the white clear plastic does not rotate and the black does. There are two little pieces (one black, one clear plastic) on opposite side from grinder that slide over eavh other to keep this knob 'locked' into place. 4) again with a sharp pointed knife or similar you can separate these two pieces to 'unlock' them. This is made easier by lifting the side of the bean holder by the grinder gently and tipping it up. Be careful not to force anything too much. The black part should pop off. 5) Now you can lift off the clear bean holder.
After this good luck. We made it farther into the machine, but could never get to where we needed to go to fix our problem.
Krups must be congratulated for designing a machine that cannot be repaired and must be replaced with new purchases.

I had this problem too and finally found a fix for it.
I don't know if the cause of this issue is the same for everyone experiencing the problem, but the issue for me was hard water. The fix is to run vinegar mixed with water through the machine quite a few times, until it starts to run normally.
If you do have hard water issues, it's recommended that you run vinegar or citric acid through the machine about once a month, to keep deposits from building up.

Pump in actuator down phase
The flow has not dropped (> 50ml/min)
after the actuator has been filled to the
maximum (80ml); there is a water
leakage and the actuator does not fill
Look for the leakage source:
hoses, actuator, priming valve?
Switch or distributor switch
control fault: incorrect detection
of cams error in distributor
position in cylinder descent
phase.
Flowmeter hoses changed over
Distributor problem (leakage at
drain ..)
Faulty connection between the
2 picto boards
If no leak detected, replace
power board V26 with V29
