The model indicated is a older rear projection set.
If you go to a program that is black and white and turn the color off the screen should be something close to black and white.
There is a way to adjust the red screen down but it takes two people.
If you want to know how and what is involved let me know.

sounds like you need to have the two convergence IC's replaced. These are soldered on the main board. Good Luck

In your set you have three circuit boards.
The one on the far left is the SSB, middle board is the LSB, and the board on the right is the power supply board.
Try yanking cable 1516 that connects the SSB to the LSB. Its a small white ribbon cable.
Does the set turn on now?
If so your convergence chips are shot and need to be repalced. You can get a replacement kit and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com. If the set tubes still don't light up after yanking 1516 the problem is elsewhere. Most likely the HVG.

Unplug set and remove back cover---above main boards you will see a small square black plastic block with 6 adjustments.
You have to look carefully--3 are focus (red, green, blue)
DO NOT TOUCH THOSE.
3 ARE SCREENS (red, green and blue)
Locate the 3 and look closely for r, g, b---you want to locate the red screen control.
YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL HERE AS THE ADJUSTMENT MUST BE DONE WITH THE SET TURNED ON (go to black and white program OR to a UNUSED VIDEO INPUT.
With someone watching from the front lower (usually to the left) the RED screen until the picture looks normal.
BE CAREFUL AS WITH SET ON THERE ARE DANGEROUS VOLTAGES present; I usually use a plastic tool for this (keep away from all the large red wires around the block as they have HIGH voltage on them.
ASK FIRST IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS----this adjustment is more difficult in the set you have since it is done from the rear---most sets have it easily accessed from the front of the set.
