Nokia coolpix p100 wont charge

We have attempted to charge the camera via USB cable in both a power outlet and on computer, and with both the original provided and a new cable and original charger, but absolutely no response has been given by the camera to suggest recharging. We have explored charging options on the camera with what charge still exists, but nothing has changed. The computer will not even read the device.

In General. Nikon Coolpix cameras TURN ON when you change them. This means when you plug in USB with a computer the camera turns on and the computer sees it.

If you turn the camera ON. And the Battery indicator shows "FULL CHARGE" you may NOT be able to charge it.

To eliminate variables. Do not charge with the computer until you charge with the adapter (wall charger). When the wall charger works then try the computer.

Look at page 145 in your manual for Computer charging.

Make sure your date and time are set in the camera.

Make sure it NEEDS a charge.

No. In order to keep down the size and weight, the camera does not include the circuitry needed to charge the battery.

SOURCE: Camera will not charge, shows

It could possibly be the battery or the charger itself.Try purchasing the charger it self.Use the old battery to see if it will charge it. If it does not charge you may have to purchase a new battery.as well.

I have nikon coolpix p100 i want to transfer pic to my pc

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa or Nikon Transfer.

Nikon COOLPIX S51 Digital Camera Charge usb

The S51 does not charge via the USB. Connecting the camera to a computer merely drains the battery faster, since the camera has to expend power communicating with the computer (even if it's only to say it has nothing to say).

The S51 comes with an MH-62 charger, which plugs into a wall outlet. This allows you to charge one EN-EL8 battery while using another in the camera.

If you need a charger, you can order one from Nikon at
http://shop.nikonusa.com/store/nikonusa/en_US/pd/productID.213504000
or a third-party one for about half the price at

My nikon coolpix S220 wont charge. I had to buy another USB connector because my son lost his and it does not seem to recognize the camera at all and will not charge

The camera does not contain any charging circuitry and will not charge the battery when connected via the USB cable. In fact connecting via USB actually drains the battery faster because the camera has to communicate with the computer (even if only to say it has nothing to say).

The camera comes with a separate MH-63 charger. Take the battery out of the camera, put it into the charger, and plug the charger into a wall outlet. Once the battery is charged, you can put it into the camera and try connecting it to the computer.

Better yet, don't connect it to the computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). I took a picture without the memory card and the photos got stored on the camera. how do i print these for a coolpix p100?

A couple options:

1) Connect your camera USB connection to your computer/laptop and copy the required photos to your hard disk or other external storage device.

2) Alternatively, plug in a SD card in your camera and transfer the photos from your camera internal memory to your external 'plug-in' SD card via the camera menu option: if required, refer to your camera user manual on how to use this copy function.

Hope it helps.

Hi My digital camera the Nikon coolpix s3000 kept flashing batter exhausted but it wont charge by the computer. How do i fix or charge my camera?

Not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries, especially if you're going through a hub. Try a different USB port if one is available. Otherwise, plug the supplied AC charger into a wall outlet and use that.

Can you trickle charge the Olympus FE-20 via the usb cable?

Very few cameras will charge through USB ports. This is only to connect to computer to access pictures. Your camera will not charge via USB. I suggest to many people that using cameras that take AA batteries is the best cameras to buy when traveling. Many camera owner fall victim to different voltage outlets when travelling.
