Whirlpool ultimate care II will not spin

Washer is full of water and will not spin. I hear the lid switch clicking. When I start it on spin cycle I hear a hum, the tub moves a couple of inches and then stops...shortly after it shuts off.

You said, washer is full of water and will not spin. You hear the lid switch clicking. When you start it on spin cycle and hear a hum, the tub moves a couple of inches and then stops...shortly after it shuts off.

Some reasons this may happen
Washer won’t drain or spin
n
1. Is the drain hose clogged, or the end of the drain hose
more than 72 inches (183 cm) above the floor?
2. Is the lid open? ............Also the lid switch can be faulty!!
The lid must be closed during operation.
3. Is there excessive sudsing?
Always measure detergent. Follow manufacturer’s directions.
4 If you have very soft water, you might need to use less
detergent.

Sounds to me like the lid switch can be faulty!!Then it acts like the lid is open.

My washer is not spinning on the spin cycle...what should I do?

If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. You should hear a click from the switch when you open or close the lid.

Washer will work on rinse, then stops, won't drain or spin.

most likely the lid switch is faulty .there is a tab on the washer lid that lines up with the lid switch make sure it is lined up and switch is depressed . should hear a click ,if not replace switch.

Ultimate Care II - Rinse Cycle does not start

sounds like a lid switch problem. is there a clicking noise when you open and close the lid?
if not then the lid switch may need to be replaced; inexpensive.
this could also be caused by a bad timer.
also try a different speed for the rinse cycle, it may be a bad motor and it is not going into a certain speed. instead of gentle or slow speed try fast or normal, something like that.

Washer won't start spin cycle

sounds like a lid assy issue, can you hear a "clicking" just before the lid is closed, try opening nad closing a few times listening for a distinct "click" if not the machine doesnt think the door is closed and for safety reasons wont spin and drain.
