I have a trane thermostat and I need help programming it
I have duel heat which is gas and ac which is electic but when i switch to heat on thermostat it runs for a little bit then shuts off I think program is stopping it.
Re: I have a trane thermostat and I need help programming...
If indeed the program is stopping it you can find out by putting the thermostat temp on a manual hold. Set tstat to a desired temperature then push hold. If all works well then you will need to reset your program to fill your needs

Had error code 91 on Trane XL19i thermostat. Heat season on duel fuel system. Repair tech said board is bad ($963) and transducer ($1000). Unit is 3 ton 12 years old. Does it make sense to repair or put in a new unit?
You probably have it running a program. Try using it simply on heat mode. Then set temperature and press hold on thermostat. The word hold should show up on the screen.
At your thermostat , Set switch to heat, turn up temp switch. Fan should be set to auto. Wait up to 5 mins to be surethat somthing is wrong. If your fan comes on without heat. Check gas valve or if heat pump check main a/c breaker. If elect heat or any of above dosn't work. Call a service company. If your in Pensacola. Look up Absolute Heating and Air Conditioning.
you can switch the thermostat to "emergency heat" which will turn the outdoor section off and the thermostat will control the electric heat elements in the air handler if it has them.
your trane heat pump energizes the reversing valve with O - orange y - is to turn on the unit make sure you have your orange wire hooked up and the tstat programming set to heatpump otherwise your reversing valve might be bad
you have to configure the thermostat to run the fan when there is a call for heat. look at the installation instructions and they shoud ask you if it is gas or electric heat if its electric then you are gong to have to configure it to makr e the fan come on with the heat. Good luck
