Play mode/File Retrieval mode not working

I have my camera plugged into the electric outlet and plugged into the computer USB. When I turn it on to play mode to try to transfer files, the screen is black, nothing comes up, and the computer doesn't recognize any device. When I switch it to record mode, it comes on and will seemingly let me record. When I then switch it from record mode to play mode, it stays in record mode (lets me record) and I can't see or access my files as I should be able to. At this point, I'm most concerned about getting my files off the camera (Baby's first Christmas is on it ; ( ) Any help would be appreciated!

SOURCE: Will not play back

Usually if there is no impact injury involved or nagging intermittent past problems, you probably have a head cleaning issue. Try a dry type (reccomended) cleaning tape. Should be able to purchase at Best Buy or similar store. Good luck, magic seadog

SOURCE: my video camera wont let me record or play

Greetings bianca50,

There is a known issue with a small button that becomes stuck causing your camera to display this error message. I would suggest ensuring this button is not stuck on your camera by putting the battery on a bit forcefully. This should eliminate the error.

Thank you,

J1050 ge camera cannot see pictures in my computer

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

When the Pentax USB cable is connected to the computer USB outlet pictures do not appear on computer

make sure camera is in the play mode and powered on. If this does not work, sub out the cable to make sure it is not the cable. The last thing is to reinstall the usb ports - this is almost never necessary - but to do this start/control panel/system/device mgr, find usb root hub and right click uninstall to each. reboot and they will reinstall automatically.

good luck

How do I re charge battery with electrical plug

To charge the battery using your computer:
Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer using the included iPod shuffle Dock. The computer must be turned on and not in sleep mode (some models of Macintosh can charge iPod shuffle while in sleep mode). When the battery is charging, the status light on iPod shuffle is orange. When the battery is fully charged, the status light turns green.
If you don't see the status light, iPod shuffle might not be connected to a high-power USB port. Try another USB port on your computer.

To charge the battery using an iPod USB Power Adapter If you do not have then you have to buy the same from Apple Store) 1 Connect the AC plug adapter to the power adapter (they might already be connected). 2 Plug the USB connector of the iPod shuffle Dock into the power adapter. 3 Plug the power adapter into a working electrical outlet. 4 Put iPod shuffle in the dock. You can disconnect and use iPod shuffle before it is fully charged.

ImageMixer 3 SE for SD. Can't Create Disc, Save Files to PC

This has to be the shittest software ever! I've edited my clips in the editing mode but can't do anything but save it as a working edit. The file format is useless for anything but this program so all you can do is edit to your hearts content and then edit some more. Complete waste of time. I tried connecting the camera (Canon HF10) and that took away all editing options. Could only burn straight to DVD or upload to computer. For such an expensive camera this is very disappointing.

Voice recording transfer

If you have a USB card reader for your memory card, just plug it into the computer and the computer will treat the memory card like a thumb drive. Otherwise, once you select the Mass Storage option, you need to plug the camera into the computer and it should be treated like a thumb drive. I personally perfer the USB card reader, its a lot easier than having to keep up with a cable and remembering to change the camera over to the appropirate mode. Plus the USB Card readers can be found under 10 bucks on the net now. Hope this helps
