Error 9 I have just changed the ink cartridge in my Canon pixma mp160 all in one inkjet Printer/scanner both the color and black for the first time useing the ink cartridges that came with it when I purchased it. It printed a nozzle check print out which was good.Now it is showing E 9 every time I try to print a document.I have tryed to reset it,but still it is coming up with this error 9 message. The printer has only been used roughly 30 times,because the ink is so expensive so I don't use it that often.Please could you help me solve this problem.Thank you for your time.     Thank you for your advise, but I have nothing attached to the printer.I have managed to get the manual and it say's that E9 could be that the paper is not postioned correctly on the glass. I will try to sort it later .Thank you for your help.

you cannot insert or interchange the cartridges in black to color slot. It will not accept and if you do it by force, you are damaging the printing mechanism of the printer

The ink cartridges are not installed [1401], or a non-supported ink cartridge is installed [1485], or the ink cartridges are not installed properly [1687].
Check if supported ink tank(s) is installed, and re-install them properly, and then close the scanning unit.

My canon pixma MP145 showed E5 and wont print anymore

Error 4
The error code E4 indicates that ur printer is low on black ink if ur getting this error error code then u need to replace the blak ink cartridge. Hope this solution will solve ur prob

Color ink cartridge does not print in full colors
Canon printers do not like the refilled ink cartridges. After having ruined a few printers trying to "save" money. I went back to genuine Canon ink and have never had a problem since.

How to change ink jet cartridge canon 'pixma' printer mp160
Please go to this Canon link (click here) and enter the term "ink cartridge replacement" in the search window for a set of detailed instructions (with pictures) on how to replace your ink cartridges.
As you face the printer, with the scan cover open,in position to remove them, the black cartridge goes on your left and the color on the right.
