Hi Reinaldo,

I assume your mobo is an ASUS, based on 845PE intel chipset, just follow the link below:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P4PE-X

It requires for you to select your OS to download.

Good luck and have a nice day.

Need to replace button battery on asus p4pe

Hello the manual can be downloaded here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_478/P4PEX/#download

Select first your windows system.
Open the manual folder and click on global for download.
Unzip the file and you need adobe reader to read the content.

The cmos battery (C2032) should hold the power for at least 5 years.
The power rating is 3,3 volts.
When the battery power is lost the bios can`t remember the settings
and you have to enter the bios clock settings and etc. everytime you turn on the pc.

The battery looks like this:

12_17_2012_12_53_45_pm.jpg

This type of battery can be bought almost everywhere.
The battery type is called ( C2032 )

You have to setup the bios settings when you change the battery
and take antistatic precautions when working on the mainboard.

Good luck

How can i boot or reformat using usb in motherboard p4pe-x, or can i boot from usb from that mobo instead? If so, how? I see on boot setup the removable devices, under that after i click removable...

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
(note after you have loaded the operating system you must go back and change the first boot device to your hard drive)
The BIOS is AMI. Under ADVANCED SETUP:
The options listed for 1st,2nd ,3rd Boot device include:
IDE-0 means Pri master ?
IDE-1 means Pri slave ?
IDE-2 means Sec master ?
IDE-3 means Sec slave ?

hope this helps

P4pe x cannot detect hhd drive

If the BIOS cannot detect the hard drive then :-
1. The hard drive data cable or power connector may not be inserted properly.
2. The motherboard disk controller is faulty.
3 The hard disk is faulty.

To test the motherboard disk controller, connect another hard disk to the motherboard and go into the BIOS to see if it detects the hard drive.
If it detects the hard drive, then the other hard drive is faulty and need to be replaced.
Another way to test the "faulty" hard drive, connect the hard drive to an USB hard drive adapter and plug it into a working computer's USB port. If this computer sees it as an external hard drive and you can open the folders and files the the hard disk is OK, and the fault is a faulty disk controller on the motherboard.

My pc partially doesnt work. when i press the

I would start with a new bios battery first.

There is absolutely no need to reformat a hard drive for a bios issue.

I would also hold off on flashing bios just yet although that could be a later option.

Just take note of the battery position IE positive "+" up or down.

Advanced BIOS setting

Hello,

I would suggest using the set bios default option on the main screen. This should reset everything to factory defaults.

Be sure to exit saving settings. After that, assuming there's no hardware damage, it should start fine.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks
