Came home to find the main fuse tripped, we replaced the fuse in the plug, tested the socket with another appliance which worked, we have no lights on the machine, its dead, where do we start checking please?
We have now checked the bushes they seem fine? we plugged the machine in the led lights flashed on and immediately went out, the plug fuse and wiring is fine, we can't see any loose wires or bad earthsWe have now checked the bushes they seem fine? we plugged the machine in the led lights flashed on and immediately went out, the plug fuse and wiring is fine, we can't see any loose wires or bad earths

A faulty heater in both a washing machine and dishwasher will trip swithes because they both cause an earth........the chances are you heater needs replacing......the reason its tripping after a short period is probably beacause the cycle doesnt start heating the water until after approx 15-20 mins depending on the cycle chosen
hello, the reason for this because theres a dead short inside washer or the socket may have a loose wire check all the earth wires inside the washer and the sockets get back to me if you still have trouble

1) Unpluggd the machine, and see if the c. breaker from your home tripped, if this happen the problem will be in your home, NOT in your machine. call to some electrician.
2) Plug the machine, and see if the c. breaker is tripped? if this happen the main motor board is faulty, replace, or the motor need repair. 3) Test the motor input voltage, if there are the motor is faulty. 4) Test the output voltage board, for input voltage motor, if there are NOT the board is faulty. See the block diagram +diagram attached. God bless you
Before you change fuses, do you have an internal fuse board or RCD system in your home? Sometimes, an individual RCD can trip out, locking off sockets. Some sockets are individually set up for up and downstairs in a house, or different rooms. If you have a board or RCDs, check them out :)
If an appliance seems to be completely dead, you need to trace the power all the way from the socket outlet to the inside of the appliance. Check the obvious first and ensure the outlet is working by plugging another appliance into it. Open the plug and check the wires are screwed securely into the pin terminals. Often the cores in a cable will break due to metal fatigue at the point where they exit the plug or enter the appliance. Remove the plug and pull firmly on each cores of the cable. Often they will break and pull out of the cable if the copper is broken. After that it is a matter of opening the casing of the washer (turn off the power) and doing a continuity test for each core to ensure the wires aren't broken. Do a continuity test on the power switch also to ensure it is working.
go to the qualified electricians on your place... but there is some helpful tips that can help you.. (1) for continued protection before starting. turn off the main circuit breaker. (2) unplug all the appliances or equipment installed... (3) check all the wall socket outlet... look for any damages on the wall socket... if the wall socket outlet have no signs of burned or wet marked, try to turn on the circuit breaker. check if the problem is solved.. (4) if the wall socket outlet have a signs of burned or wet marked.. just replace that w/ the same type of socket... check also the appliances that may caused the problem... the easiest way to know is to look at the socket plug itself... ty
If
your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the
mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to
the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse. ONLY
USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT. The usual
cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or
sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the
appliance. Hope this helps.
Hello, Remove the back panel from the dryer and test the thermal fuse, it looks like this:
With and ohms meter take wires off and test for condinuity...if no condinuity replace it, Hope this helps. Good Luck! Mike
HI. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.
Concerning the Control Thermostat(53-2880). This is the main control thermostat. if it is covered in lint as you have sated, this will confirm thermostatfailure. this has tripped the thermal fuse in this case, totally rendering the dryer inoperable at this time. you will need to replace the Control thermostat and thermal fuse as well. this will fix your unit.
The thermal fuse can be tested be using a basic voltage needle but, it is really not needed. the thermostat has failed. the over cover of lint has shorted the device(lint will create an arch that will ruin the device)
Once the thermostat failed, the heat will rise to a unacceptable rate and, this will trip the thermal fuse and kill the dryer. its a safety feature to prevent a fire in your home.
Hi Richard,
The most likely cause of your problem is a loose wire in the plug connecting your fridge to the power socket - check the terminal screws that secure the wires into the plug, and of course check or replace the fuse with a known "good" one.
Also plug some other appliance in the socket that your fridge is normally connected to, just to make sure there is power at the socket itself.
I have never known fridges to have internal fuses, but there's always a first time :-)
Hope this helps - if not come back with a comment so I can try to help you further.
If the washer doesn't operate or make any noise when set on any cycle, or if it stops suddenly when it should continue onto the next cycle, it may not be receiving electrical power or, if the motor stopped mid-cycle, the machine's overload protector may have tripped. In this case, take out some of the articles to reduce the load and let the protector reset itself, then restart. Otherwise:
1) Be sure it is plugged in and turned on. If necessary, check the receptacle it's plugged into for power, using a working lamp, appliance, or voltage tester. Be sure the washer lid is closed completely.
2) If the receptacle seems dead, check the circuit breaker or fuse that serves that circuit. 3) Unplug the washer and check the power cord. If necessary, replace the cord if you feel qualified.
4) Open the lid and check the lid switch and the tab on the lid that it pushes against. Press and release the switch: if it doesn't click when you do this, it's probably broken. If you're experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call an appliance repair service person.
5) If the washer still doesn't work, the controls may be faulty. Call a service person.
