SOURCE: The motor got hot & smoked so I assume I need

As for the motor two of the best suppliers that I have found are washer specialties or grainger industrial supply. They both have distributors nationwide so you should have no trouble finding one nearby. The screwdriver you can get at auto zone or napa. Hope this helps you. Thanks. For the motor you will need h.p. rating manufacture name voltage rating and shaft diameter. The model number would be helpful to.

Shredder #FS5. Blows the circuit breaker each time I move the starter to the start position. Every part of the head is clean of paper, etc.

It sounds like the cogs that drive the cutters are damaged or the spindle on which they run is bent. It requires stripping down the machine to see if this is so. It is very rare that any repair can be done. Looks like a new shredder...

That sounds like a capacitor gone bad. My A/C motor did that too. Replaced the capacitor and all was well again.

I plug my shredder in and turn it on, it makes a short hum noise and then breaker trips and I cannot reset it.When it does reset it trips again Never used it

The breaker is tripping on an over current condition. This could be caused by the motor being stuck and not moving or some sort of short circuit. I suggest, with it unplugged, that you find a way to rotate the chipper head or the motor. May have to disassemble to accomplish this. If it will not turn it may be bound up and you are going to have to take apart anyway to remove the item.

Good luck, hope this helps.

How do you change the cutter blade on the TB Chipper?

I just did one!
There are two opposing threaded holes next to the shaft.
Screw in bolts and use a wheel or gear puller to remove.
You can use a socket that fits in the center bore for an extention of your gear puller.
auttozone or ayto supply rents for free w/deposit

Just replace compressor keep tripping circuit breaker

Shut the power off to the unit, spin the fan blade to see if it spins freely. If it doesn't spin freely, (there appears to be a little drag when you spin it),the bearings are bad, if it does spin freely, then try moving the motor shaft from side to side if there’s any play in the shaft side to side then the bearings are worn and motor needs replaced. Then, check the capacitor, if it’s bulging even slightly, the capacitor is bad and needs replaced. Most of the time people replace the capacitor if motor seems ok. If capacitor is ok, turn power on to see if the motor is getting the proper voltage, if it is and not trying to run, then the windings are probably open, the motor's bad and needs replaced.
The fan motor could have been your problem all the time, because if the fan doesn't come on or runs slow, it causes high head pressure,
which causes high amps, which could trip your breakers.
