When I push the open/eject button on my Bose 3800 home theater system to open the DVd drawer, it doesn't open. this is an intermittent problem. It first occurred on and off about 2 years ago, then I didn't have the problem for about 8 months, but it just happened again last week. Any ideas on how to remedy the situation is welcome.
In days gone by?! they used to have a small little hole in the front of the CD and DVD players so you could open a small paper clip and use it as poking tool to manually push open the drawer.
It depends on how confident you feel, but you might need to see if you can actually remove the DVD player from the Bose unit - the open and close mechanism runs typically on an O-Ring from a motor to a gear drive that pops open the door and brings the tray out - It may need a cleaning with a rubber cleaner or if nothing else handy, then a Q-Tip and some rubbing alcohol. Take a good look at the O-Ring and see if it is getting cracked and if you know of a place where you can get a replacement, then you might as well do that - It may not be an easy thing to do, but as I have done it before a few times, it is do-able

This can happen if the disc has been put in upside down accidentally, if both sides are highly reflective (e.g. blank recording discs). If so, you need to get the system to eject the system before it attempts (and fails) to read the wrong side of the disc:
On the back of the Acoustimass module (sub woofer) is a power switch. Use this to the turn the system off and wait 30 seconds. Switch it back on, the media centre flashes up "Bose 321" - press the eject button firmly once as soon as this disappears. If this works, contact Bose with the serial number from the media centre to see if the system needs a (free) software update (a disc they send in the post) - just in case the system is having general disc reading issues.
However, it may be that the drive has failed - it's a mechanical part in a mass produced system so this is not unreasonable, just disappointing. But because you have bought a premium system, the company will rush to help you - call them for a repair and explain you need the disc back urgently. they'll probably arrange an urgent, fast turnaround repair....

You should be able to connect hdmi from apple tv to bose v30 for picture and sound. You can also run component video to bose and a hdmi out of bose to tv. Just make sure your running hdmi out of bose system to tv if your tv supports hdmi if not use component video cable. Another way which isn't as good of quality is to run fiber optic from apple tv to bose v30 and hdmi straight to tv.

Your s-video cable at the back of your media center is loose. This will cause black and white internal video and is known to fall out or just become loose from minor movement. (it's the nature of s-video cables)
This should solve your problem. This is the s-video cable that connects to the VS2 and media center.
If this doesn't solve the problem (I'd be surprised), just reset it by unplugging the DC power cable at the side of the VS-2 for about 30+ seconds and plug it back in..

That happens when you close the drawer instead of pressing the close button you can skip gears and it would have to be taken apart and re-calibrated. Sometimes it is just a glitch that you can over-ride using a straight pin into a small hole on the front (assuming this uses a drawer).
