No beeps at any time. I was using both memory slots 1gb each. I just pulled both memory cards and re-powered. No boot. No beeps. Reinstalled both memory and re-powered. Still no beeps or boot.

Monitor is blank. No changes to computer configuration in last few months. Nothing added or deleted. Was working fine during day. Shut down overnight (auto). Would not boot in morning. No storms. I changed out power supply with identical new one, no help.

The green power led comes on when pressing power button. Power supply fan comes on, CPU fan on, little green light on motherboard is on. Otherways nothing. Pressing reset button doesn't do anything (I guess nothing to reset). Pressing and holding power button for a few seconds turns off power, like normal. No indication of hard drive operation. No red HD light. No monitor display.

Perhaps I'm not explaining it well. Even without a monitor the PC should boot, and show some hard drive operation. Doesn't do anything except fans and green power light. Monitor is fine and shows no signal.

Do you get any beeps sounds when u start your computer? Try removing the memory card and insert it again or try another memory card slot.

What do you get on your monitor screen? Did you install or add any device on your computer prior to the problem? If you did, try to remove one of the devices like a USB hub. Your computer may be getting enough power from your power supply.

  • Anonymous Oct 12, 2008

I think, it is just the connection between your monitor and the CPU or the power on the monitor is off. Can also be the video card. Are you using the video card from your motherboard or external video card? IF external, you may try to unplug and replug it.

Telikin bios

They run on Linux. There is a BIOS, but I don't know if it's locked out though.
The Telikin Freedom looks like a full laptop
  • Intel Quad Core 1.83GHz Processor
  • 500GB hard drive
It should run any modern windows.

The other ones listed are very low specs.
Telikin Breeze
  • Intel dual core 1.8GHz processor
  • 16GB solid state drive
Telikin Silver
  • Intel J1900 Celeron Quad Core processor, 2.4GHz
  • 2GB DDR3 Memory
  • 32GB Solid State drive
Unless you can find a way to upgrade the SSD,
Windows 7 fills up 30GB by itself, 8/8.1/10 are also out of the question. None of these work well with only 2GB memory either.
You might be able to run Windows XP on the 32GB Silver.

Fiteed new quad core CPU and 4gb of Ram, when started up getting no signal detected on the monitor. Can anyone help?

Let's back up a second.

A) What HP model is it? (P/N. Product Number. Back of desktop computer tower)
B) What model number of Intel quad core is it?
C) What are the manufacturer ID number/letters on the ram memory module/s?

I need to know what Northbridge chip is used on the motherboard, to know if it will support the particular Intel quad core you're trying to use.
This I can hopefully obtain from HP Support, by looking at the specifications for the motherboard.

(This technology does not apply to motherboards that support the Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9 processors)

The Northbridge chip is part of the motherboard chipset.
So aptly named, because on a desktop computer motherboard it sits to the 'North', for one.
(Under the Processor)

[ Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

The Northbridge chip handles the faster capabilities of the computer.
It handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and High-speed graphics.

AGP and PCI-Express are high-speed graphics technology.
A graphics card plugged into a PCI slot, and Integrated Graphics, is Not high-speed graphics.

The Southbridge chip handles the slower capabilities of the computer.

Motherboard Diagram;

List of Intel Chipsets, and more specifically the one's that can handle Intel quad core processors,

Make sure the Ram Memory you installed is Compatible.
If the motherboard supports 4GB of ram, make sure it is in the correct ram slots if using two sticks of ram, or four sticks.

There HAS to be a ram memory module ('Stick') in Slot 1. (DIMM 1)
EACH ram memory slot has a Maximum Amount.

For example if there are 4 ram slots, and the Maximum Total Amount of ram memory is 4GB, each ram slot may have a maximum of 1GB.
It may, or may not be that you can use Slot 1 and Slot 2, and use two 2GB sticks.

Always go slow when upgrading.
Install the Processor first, boot the computer up, see how it works.

THEN shut the computer down, unplug from power, observe Anti-Static Precautions, and install 2GB of ram memory.

Install the other 2GB.
BIOS has to recognize the changes.

Are you sure your Power Supply is adequate to support the quad core, and the added ram memory?

My computer does not work with two 2GB RAMs

I think, one, out of the two is defected. Make pair with other memory or try changing the slots and vice versa. And for dual channel memory mode, you must installed two identical memory. I mean sizes and makes may different, but bandwidth should be identical to each other.

You could try reseting the Bios settings using the jumper of the motherboard after installing the new Rams. Anyways ,its working, so don't do that now :P .
