Solved beeping problem.........Samsung SRS539HW . Have one of these and it is 6 years old. I had to replace the bottom hinge on the fridge side(right). Easy job but now constant beeping as if door is open, and light is intermittent. Found that there is considerable wear on the cable through top hinge of door and one of the wires from a magnetic reed switch in door had broken. I discovered this by shorting the two fine wires (white and pink/white) going to internals of fridge. No more beeping due to door opening and light now working correctly. Of course I no longer get a beep for a valid door open to long but cheaper than getting a refridgerator expert in.

SOURCE: Fridge/freezer beeping

There is a lever switch usually above the door (when door is in open position) on the fridge cabinet. Not on the actual door. The beeping should stop if this lever is pressed. If the door is positioned correctly it would depress this lever when closed. It may be that the door adjustment is slightly out. If the beeping does not stop when depressed, then your printed circuit board (located usually above the door) is faulty and needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: refridgerator beeps and upper section not working

First, the Samsung Refrigerator is the only fridge that has one compressor, but two different evaporators to operate the freezer and the refrigerator separately. Thus, you can have the bottom freezer working fine, while the fridge part will not.
The reason your fridge is not working is probably a faulty door switch in the refrigerator. The switch is malfunctioning, telling the computer that the door is open. Therefore you hear the door alarm go off in intervals, even though the door is actually closed. If the computer registers an open door, it will not pump cool air into the refrigerator, as that would be a waste of energy. All you need to do is replace the door switch. Until you get a new one, you can temporarily fix your fridge by simply removing the old switch altogether. You will not have any light in the fridge, however, it will cool again just fine until you are able to install the new switch (a simple plug-in contraption, by the way).
Hope this helps.

Why does it keep beeping even though the doors are closed?

  1. Check to see if the fridge and the freezer are overfilled Over-stuffing in the freezer or the fridge or both of these compartments will prevent the doors from closing properly and which can cause the fridge's to set off the beeping alarm.
  2. Check the fridge door seals: Broken or damaged door seals may stop the fridge from closing all the way. This can also happen if the seals are dirty. Wipe clean the door seals with a soft cloth and warm and use soapy water and close the fridge doors. If the door still appears ajar then you have to replace the door seals. It is also quite possible that the inbuilt door-alarm which sets off if the fridge door is ajar for more than a few minutes has gone bad . This would need to be looked at by a qualified repair person . Until, you can call a repair person transfer all the food items to another cool place.
  3. Check the fridge balance: To work correctly the fridge must be placed on a levelled surface. Even a slight tilt in the fridge structure can set off the beeping alarm. Check to see if the fridge is balanced evenly.
  4. Check to see if the fridge exterior is warmer than usual: Check if there is adequate distance between the fridge and walls to allow for proper ventilation. If you have already ensured this and the fridge exterior still appears warmer than usual, have an appliance engineer to take look at the problem. If the beeping continues, switch-off the fridge.
  5. Check the freezer: If your fridge does not have an auto-defrost function then excessive ice-build up in the freezer can cause the beeping alarm to go off . If you see a lot of ice build-up in the icebox or freezer, switch off the fridge and let the ice thaw. Once the fridge is thawed, the beeping should stop.
  6. Have a repair person check the circuit board: It is possible that there is an issue with the appliance's circuit board. If so it will most likely need replacement.

E240B Fridge Freezer door open alarm goes even when door closed.

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

Samsung RB1855SW won't stop beeping and fridge malfunctioning

Thanks so much for the advice. I just gently pried the door sensor switch on my Samsung RB1855SL out with a butter knife and then pulled out the electrical connection and it fired up right away. It looks like some orange juice seeped in and corroded it. What a relief to have the fridge working again, not to mention to not have to listen to the beeping.

Beeping from refrigerator about once a minute.

If this is listed under the right model, then the only thing it could be is some models have a
door alarm, that will beep if the door is not closed. You could check and clean the gasket.
Or it the switch that tells the fridg that the door is closed. Check if there is a top door adjustment to bring the door closer to the fridge where the door hinge is. This might apply or push on the switch more.

Refrigerator temperature can't be set to cold - sensor light shows 9C and keeps on beeping. Samsung model RB1855SL

I had this exact problem with my 4 yr old Samsung RB1855SL refrigerator. BTW, the temperature display doesn’t display higher than 9C, even when its warmer inside. The fan wasn’t turning on to circulate the cold air, although the cooling coils were still cooling. There was no excess ice build-up. The freezer was working fine.

I thought perhaps the fan was toast or the temperature sensor. Then I noticed the interior fridge light was not turning off when closing the door (but the freezer light was). BINGO—thig light switch was the problem. A small piece on the inside of the fridge side of the switch was broken. When the door was closed, the broken switch didn’t let the fridge know that the door was in fact closed, causing the door alarm to keep beeping. This must shut the fan down in order to save energy when regularly opening the door.

DIY fix: I removed the switch (until I could get a replacement) which is located to the left of the lower door hinge (right hand side). Gently, with a flat nose screw driver, I pried it out.

The light no longer turned on when opening either door but that was a small price to pay compared to the incessant beeping and rotten food. The part can’t be very expensive and I can replace it myself. The local appliance repair shop will order it for me.

No expensive “internal brain” needed to be replaced or an expensive repairman needed to be called. Good luck!
