How do you change a drive belt on a tumble dryer
Don't know what make you have but if you go to sears .com click on parts put in your model number(inside dryer door)you will find a break down of everything you need to know, let me know how you do-mike
You need to first remove the top panel with the pcb attached then remove the front (dont undo the door hinges though) then prise it up and out.. It's takes a good bit of effort. then the bottom panel . you'll see in the bottom right a white half round cover. pull it of then the fan which it protects.. now splip the belt over the shaft and round the pulleys and the drum.. put it all back together.. easy eh
I have changed a broken belt in my Crusader tumbler dryer,
1. remove the screws from the back panel,
2.remove the 4 screws from the outer casing.
note. do not remove the screws that hold the motor or pulleys
in the bottom panel or disturb the control unit at the front
3.
you can carefully prise open the cover and see the drum and pulleys.
4.place the new belt round the drum(look for the marks for positioning)
then open the pulleys and slide the belt over the drive shaft, on the splines.
make sure that the belt is on the inside of the pulleys,
re-assemble the casing and test,
this took me about 3/4 hour
