Same here. the phone has not had any major problems for 10 months. I was on the phone when there were two separate incoming calls. I hang up and call the first one. Hang up once again, open the phone book to make a new call. The phone got stuck in the phone book, backlight became very strong. It was like this for 5-10 seconds, until i took the battery out. Now it won't "boot". The backlight, notification light and the ******** indicate that the phone turns on, but it doesn't continue from there.

Same problem here, sent it for repairs. got reply that "repair is not possible" so they sent me replacement. Got it today. Brand new and DOA. EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM - wouldn't turn on, just light, vibration and backlight then turns back off. It looks like Nokia QA is a joke. So I have to send it back to the service center. What a hassle...

only thing that has changed on my phone recently was the new version of gmail app. would this apply to any of the above posters as well?
i only bought the nokia E51 because i thought it wouldn't break down on me!
