sounds like inverter board. What it sounds like is happing is your LCD is working ut the backligkt board that allows you to see is kicking off. (as you still have sound) Which could be the (most likely) inverter board, or the power supply board. You can take apart and check for voltage at your power supply. The power supply has a pigtail with large white wires and a connector. Power up with the center back cover off and check your voltage at the white connector on the power supply before and after the screen gos out. If there is no large voltage loss it is your inverter board.

The redlight stays on. If i unplug it and plug it back in later it doesnt work. It doesnt matter if you use the remote or manually push the power button, You get the same result......red light. I read on here the other day that if you check a couple of the capacitors at the top part of the tv and see if they have rounded tops (meaning they are bad) that you could take them out and replace them and that would fix my problem. Im just not ready to tear apart my tv for a MAYBE!
same problem except i took out the 2 capacitors and replaced the 10uf450v capacitors with 2 1000uf35v capacitors..still doesnt work
