Have a kitchenaid superba part no. 4450786A with the probe indicator beeping for a temperature to be set. Prior to beeping started just used microwave to warm food; didn't need or use probe. What is problem and how to fix?

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but with many of their models (and many other manufacturer models as well), unfortunately the beep cannot be turned off.

HI, this is an indication of a failed door switch. When the switch fails, the control cannot recognize the closed door signal. Simply replacing the door latch mechanism will solve this issue.

Replace the door latch assembly, asap.

The error code F3 indicates an oven sensor problem. The oven sensor is most likely the failed part. The oven sensor probe must have the correct resistance readings at specific temperatures. When the electronic range control (ERC) cannot identify the correct resistance of the oven sensor or the resistance is way out of specs F3 will display.
I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your oven.

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount (which are pretty simple problems to fix) or occasionally a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

I would bet that the temperature probe socket has some accumulated grease, etc. in it which may be changing the resistance of the contacts, making the control board think the probe is installed but defective.

First, please unplug the oven before you investigate.

The best idea is to clean the probe socket contacts.

You'd need to remove the outer cover, and the probe socket should be located on the right side of the chassis.

If you can cut thin strips of fine sandpaper and work them back and forth between the contacts, that's the best way.

You can plug & unplug the probe while observing the socket to see how the contacts work.

Your socket may be sealed, and that would possibly require you to carefully take it apart. That's a bit of a gamble, as it may crack due to age.

Another idea is to take a wad of paper toweling, hold it with your right hand over the back of the probe socket, and spray contact cleaner or WD40, etc. into the opening of the probe jack from inside the oven cavity with your left hand.

Then plug & unplug the probe several times, wipe any spills and try the oven again.

If the probe unplugs form the control board, you could disconnect it and try the oven.
