My monitor works for a little while, then goes black.

My monitor works fine for a little while, then it just goes black. If I shut down and re-boot, it comes back on...but only for a little while and it goes black again.

I'm having the same issue with an Emachines flat monitor model 568 eview 15L. What can I do to fix this?

"My monitor, emachines E15T4 15" flat panel, works for a little while, then goes black." first note witht eh red green blue is "No Signal" then all black screen with white rectangle with note "Frequency out of range". If I shut down and re-boot the monitor works. Once I had bad color but that seems to have gone away. Once had ithe screen go into a weirdverticla streaky siver, grey, black affair. Is the problem with the monitor or the CPU? How do I, not tech savvy, determine which it is?

Your power-inverter board needs an overhaul.
Probably in need of the standard capacitor replacement.
OR
a bulb in the screen is bad (a bad bulb will usually show symptoms)
It will flicker, or will look pinkishish for a bit or dark in the middle top or bottom of the screen.

My hp2009m monitor goes into sleep mode

Monitors are programmed to go to sleep when there is no input. If you shut it down on the other "tower" also it will do the same. You need to physically hit the power button on the monitor to actually shut it off.

Monitor not turns on

first off check all the chords and make sure the monitor is turned on. as you have probably done this try to use a different monitor. borrow one for an hour or something. if the second monitor is black as well it is your video card in your PC and you will have to replace it. If it boots as normal that of coarse means that your Xerox monitor is broken and needs to be replaced/repaired. Hope your warranty is still good. Good Luck.

Monitor goes black after running for a few minutes. Brand new 22 inch sceen.I prees the button to turn it on and it says Analog and goes black again. I have to shut down the computor to get it to come back...

Sounds like the computer is shutting it down and the monitor is fine. Check for viruses then check your settings in device manager for the screen saver and power down (screen off) options.

Screen seems to be not working properly

try using a different monitor, borrow one if you have to, if the monitor works on your computer, then it simply means you need a new monitor. As far as the computer shutting down, it may be recording the bad monitor as an error in the loading process and automatically shutting down.

My monitor comes on for one second then goes black. The green light stays on the whole time.

Check the cables, make sure it is secure on both ends. Also see if you pull up the Monitors on screen menu.

As long as the light is green, that means there is a signal. it could be a bad monitor. Shut off all the lights in the room, then grab a Flashlight and hold it against the LCD screen while it boots into windows. Can you see the desktop now, but very dimm? If you can see the desktop, then connect Your PC to another monitor (if u have one or a friends, perhaps) and boot it up, can you see the desktop on the other monitor fine?, then we just ruled out a Bad video card and narrowed it down to either a Bad Inverter in the Screen or LCD back light issue.

probally not worth fixing, because replacement LCD's arent cheap. nowadays at the right sale you can buy a Brand new LCD monitor for as little as $199

good luck,

Computer not recognizing moniter

Resolution set too high for display.

Attach TUBE monitor, Start Windows, change resolution to 1024x768 (MAX) and then hit APPLY/OK.

Also check refresh rate, it is listed in hertz (hz) in advanced settings. Should be 70-72khz not faster than either.

Shut down PC, Connect LCD, you should have a decent picture.

Monitor goes black

Sorry to have to tell you this, but this is common in LCD monitors. The reason that it is going black when it boots is for one of two reasons. You either have a bad power supply that powers your LCD or your LCD's backlight is blown. These can be repaired or you can purchase a new one. But if it goes black 9 times out of 10 is because the backlight is bad. These can be repaired!
