Jenn-Air Dishwasher Handle Loose

The left side of the stainless steal handle is very loose and I don't see any where I can tighten a screw. I took out the screws on the inside of the dishwasher door. It looked like I couldn't get at the screw from the inside. Any ideas?

I have the exact same model with the same problem on the left side of the dishwasher handle. I'm wondering if this is a manufacturer's defect. Mine also became loose in October of 2008. There is nothing in the owners manual to indicate how to get to the handle and the inside panel will not allow access to the screws even after you loosen it from the front stainless panel. I will let my builder know of this issue so that he can avoid all Jenn-Air appliances in future homes.

I usually dont respond to these, but, I have the exact same problem, on the left side. Ive tried everything, except taking the whole door apart!

We also have the same problem - left side of the door and we've taken the screws out on the inside stainless steel interior thinking that would be the access point. It's not. So don't try it. We're calling Jenn Air in the morning. Please take a moment to comment if you are experiencing the same thing - Jenn Air hates publicity like this.

Great Tip below!! Worked like a charm. Thanks!!!

AWESOME TIP....... My handle has been loose for ages! Before I had read this tip, I had already taken out all of the screws on the inside panel, lifted it and said" Yike, I can't believe they make this so difficult to just tighten a loose handle!" I followed your tip, took out only the two "long" screws on each side, lifted the door 3/4 of the way, tugged gently on the handle, and 'VOILA!" the entire panel slid right off handle and all, exposing the two screws to tighten the handle. Follow Pokeymans tip and you will have no problem! Thank you so much! The Star screwdriver is you will need is a TORX 20 size! Thank you again!

This worked perfectly for me. Follow the link that shows you which two screws to take out. It is one screw on each side of the inside door frame. One on the left and one on the right (not the top one, but the second one down). Then pull the door handle upward about 2 inches and the whole washer face comes up. Jiggle it off and tighten the handle. Only tricky thing is that you need a star screwdriver.

The problem I had in the beginning was that I took off the middle screws on top (cause that's what it looks like in the picture), but it's actually the side screws. Don't take them all off - just the two you need.

It worked! Thank you so much! I learned something and thought I would share... at first I unscrewed all of the screws all the way around the inside panel and wondered why 2 of the screws were long (2 inches) and all the others were 3/4inch. Once I read this, I realized the 2 long screws on the sides were the ones to take off to slide the panel up and off, which was ***easy***. You are right, the picture on Jenn Air's site does not show that we are actually seeing the SIDE of the dishwasher, not the top. Thanks for helping this mom of 4 do the job, and saving me $160 for someone to come out!

I had the same problem and had the same issue. Loosened all the screws and couldn't getto the handle screws. Read your post, went back and tightened the handle. Took about 3 minutes. Thanks.

Awesome, we have been living with the loose handle forever. could not figure out how to tighten. After reading this solution it was fixed in about 2 minutes. Thanks!

Loose handle

Open the door and loosen the self threading screws around the sides of the inner door panel. Once this has been achieved lift the inner panel up so that you can access the door handle screws. Tighten these fasteners and reassemble the door panel.

Jdb2100aws dishwasher - door handle fasteners loose, handle ready to drop off. This is a dissambly question: The middle section of the door has an upper one-third (which contains the input switch strip)...

after removing the stainless cover l tried to disassemble the door further but found it difficult, there is a hard thick plastic cover, i took my dremel and cut a small hole large enough for a wrench to fit and tighten the thin nut on the handle, line up the hole with where the nut would be on the other side, its a pretty quick and easy fix, l dont understand why they didnt have the openings there throughthe plastic to do the tightening since it is the stainless steel that keeps the water where it should be.

The handle is loose, how do I tighten it

You need to remove the inner door panel to access the screws that hold the door handle in place. I had to do this about a year ago - the screws are located around the outside edge of the door. Be careful; the inner parts are plastic, so take your time. It's a fairly easy repair.

Loose freezer door handle

There is a "set screw" on the underside of the posts that connect the handle to the mounting posts on the face of the door of my Jenn-Air bottom freezer. Use an Allen wrench to loosen the set crew, which is very small (my Jenn-Air requires a 3/32" Allen wrench), and then tighten the bolt on the mounting post on the face of the freezer door. Position the handle over the post, then tighten the set screws with the Allen wrench. Cynthia

Loose door handle on ge profile dishwasher

Take the inside panel off.  The 2 screws near the latch only need to be loosened.  Once the handle is off, you will find an allen bolt inside the shaft of the handle support.  Tighten and you are done.
