I have a GE Microwave/Browner Model JES1384WD001. I has stopped working in an odd way. seems to work, timer sets and clock runs, but when you push start, timer counts down but there is no action at all in the microwave, no turntable, light, microwaves, or browner. Sometimes you can hear a click-click, when you push start, but no action.

SOURCE: The light burned out in

I'm assuming that's model number JES1384SF06.

The bulb is an assembly on this model, and it can only be removed with the outer cover off.

See http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt

I have attached an excerpt of the exploded view below. It is located atop the plastic holder where the door switches are located.

The GE part number is WB36X951 and you can find it many places, including here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

SOURCE: no heat - everything else works

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnetron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace the whole oven which is probably what you will end up doing.

There is a possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it apart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.

SOURCE: touch pad works fine. Any input for microwaving

There can be a lot of things please check this out :

For turntable foolow these steps :
1..
Check the function. Many microwave models have a timer setting in addition to the cook setting. Check to see that you did not inadvertently choose the timer setting.
2.
Make sure the tray is seated properly. Some trays are seated on a spinning rack that must be aligned in a track. Check to see that the wheels of the tray are aligned. Other models may have a insertion point on the underside of the tray that fits into the spinning motor area. Make sure that the tray is placed squarely over this connector and does not wobble.
3.
Check that the tray is not upside down. If the tray is placed upside down, it may not align properly with the spinning rack or connector. Remove and replace right side up.
4.
Clear the track of debris. Food can stick to the wheels or clog the track in spinning rack models or adhere to the rotators in other models. Remove large pieces of food or other debris and then wipe the interior with a damp sponge.
5.
Turn the turntable function on. Some models may have an on/off switch for the turntable function. Refer to your microwave instructions to see if your model has a switch and how to locate it. Turn it to the "on" position to get the turntable to move again.
IF Microwave doesn't activate
•1
Make sure microwave is plugged in properly.
•2
Check that door closes completely and its latch is aligned.
•3
Check that interlock switch in door works properly (required for activating microwave).
•4
Replace a blown fuse if it's accessible, or contact a service technician.

SOURCE: I HAVE A GE MICROWAVE/BROWNER NODEL WES1384SM2SS.

Re: GE JES1384SF Mine quit working so I unplugged it and put a pot of boiling water in it and let the steam dissolve whatever was gumming things up. I used an electric hot plate to keep the water boiling. I let it boil for a couple of hours. I left the door 2/3 open. The microwave is working again. It is four years old and has been used every day, many times a day before it stopped working.

How do you stop, reset or change the remaining time on the Timer on the GE JES1142 microwave? Pressing Clear/Off does nothing. Do you just have to wait for the timer to run out? Manuel is wrong even on how...

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

Vent blower won't stop

I had the same problem with the fan not wanting to shut off after the repair. Once I set the clock though I was able to push the button to shut the fan off. So try setting your clock first and see if that helps.

I am trying to set the kitchen timer on my older spacemaker microwave for 2 hours and am unable to do so ... Am I trying to do something impossible?

The first step is to set the clock. To do this, push clock, set the time using the key pad and then PUSH clock a second time.

Once that is done you can set the timer by pushing timer, putting in the number of minutes you want and pushing start.

Microwave doesn't heat anything

This more than likely is the magnatron,< heats food >, making noise and not working. it isn,t really easy fix and can be done if you get part and experienced person to walk you through it. Most GE magnatrons have at least 5 yr warranty and if it isn't that old call them first.

When i plug in the microwave it starts running & will not stop

Sounds like you blew a device on the main board when you didn't unplug it first. The whole main timer board must be replaced to repair the unit. Pricey, sorry!!
