It's not anywhere in the literature. Before you remove the sim from the old phone copy the address book into the old sim. Then take the old sim out of the old phone and then put it in the new phone. Copy from the old sim into the new phone. Then take out the old sim and put in the new sim and copy from the new phone into the new sim. Your all set.

Razr v3 how to transfer phone# to sim card?

Go to your address book. Find the listing you want to transfer to your SIM card. Select it and then go to EDIT. Now scroll down to where it says STORE TO:
It will either say PHONE or SIM. If it says PHONE you will need to select CHANGE. This will allow you to select between PHONE and SIM. Change it to SIM and click on SELECT. It is now saved to your SIM card.
Have a great day!

Address book on SIM card

You can connect it to a pc via the usb port and transfer all of it into the computer. Some programs actually allow you to see the screens of the phone on the pc so try that out.

Transfer contacts list

1. From the standby screen (the first screen when you open your phone), go to the menu.
2. Scroll to the address book and press select.
3. Scroll to the address you wish to copy (or any address if you want to copy all of them) and press the menu key.
4. Go down to copy and press select.
5. Select "Entries" to copy just that one entry or "All to SIM" if you want to copy all your addresses to your SIM card, or "All to Phone" if you want to copy them all to your phone.
6. Select Merge or Override. Merge will combine any addresses that are already on your card with the ones you are now copying, Override will replace anything that is already there with the ones you are now copying. Be careful in deciding which you want to do since Override will delete anything previously saved and merge will duplicate any that were already saved and are being saved again.

Motorola Razr V3 - I had my Address Book transferred from an old phone to my new Razr V3. Now all address names/numbers are 'SIM', so I have multiple entries for each person and no way of identifying which...

I had the same problem going from my Nokia to the V3. The Nokia could store multiple #'s under the same contact, the Motorola can't.
You can go through each contact and change the "Type" by highlighting your contact... Options, Edit. Then you have to decipher the icon to the right of each contact.

Or you can Edit the name by doing the same and adding.."Home", "Cell", etc. Also a pain.

I ended up buying Motorola Phone Tools so I could do all the editing, downloading, and back ups on my PC. Very simple.

Whether you store the contact on the phone or memory card does not affect how it is displayed.

Let me know if this was your prob....

Sim card

Make sure you store all your phonebook contacts in the SIM card and your SMS messages too.
Then exchange the SIM's and your actual line and number will be on the new phone.

Transferring phonebook from phone to sim card

The razr that i had could only store 4 numbers on the sim card, your phone book is stored on your phone's memory not your sim. I'm pretty sure that you cannot transfer your phone book over to your sim card.
