Nikon D80 'error' and 'clock' message

Hi,
My D80 is not working. It turns on, but none of the functions are working. There is a flashing 'error' message and 'clock' message on the display screen.
I am using it in quite humid conditions, but the camera was working fine until today, and now it cannot take a picture. Please help me.
Thank you,
Nick

Humidity affected my camera. At first it would not take pics at all, showing an r06 on the display. Now I can take pictures but I cannot get into the Menu screen nor modify ISO selection with manual commands. Very weird.
Every time I try to access an affected command I got the r06 thing. Thanks.-

Error clock R49 error on Nikon D80

this error message is usually caused by a low battery. Here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:

Remove the battery from your camera.
Fully charge the battery using the Nikon D80 battery charger.
Remove the memory card and reset the camera by using the reset option in the menu or by pressing the reset switch on the camera's body, under the connector cover .
If the error persists, Nikon recommends waiting for one or two days before sending the camera in for inspection

When I turn on nikon d80 err flashes

The Nikon D-90 users manual says on page 256 that the ERR message indicates a camera malfunction and that it can be cleared by releasing the shutter.

I've found on my D-90 that the only way I can get the shutter to release is my turning the camera off. When I turn it back on the ERR message is gone and the camera functions as it should.

Occasionally, I have had to remove and reinstall the battery to make the camera turn off but this happens only rarely.

The users manual says if the condition occurs frequently or persists that you should contact a Nikon authorized repair center. I suggest that you contact Nikon tech support at www.nikon.com to see what they suggest. I think this information would apply to the D-80 as well.

The r05 is not an error message. It is an indication that the camera is shooting in burst mode (multiple shots with one button push) and that you can shoot five more shots before the camera must pause, clean its cache and be prepared to shoot again.

Hi nrkelkar, In the D80 manual page 36 it speaks about the buffer. What you see as an error message is r with a number. The number is how many shots the buffer at that moment can handle. It is not an error message.

Nikon D80 Err

You did not mention what error mesage you got. If it is a flashing "F--" then it has something to do with your lens.

This usually happens to lenses that have an aperture ring. Do the following:

1. Turn off your camera.
2. Move the aperture ring clockwise and lock it
3. Turn on the camera and see if this works

If this does not work, unlock the aperture ring and move it counter-clockwise then lock it again.

This should fix your problem

Nikon D80 error message rEE

This may be due to the aperture ring in your lens. Try the following:

1. Turn off your camera
2. Move the aperture ring clockwise then lock
3. Turn on your camera and try again.

If this does not work, do the same thing again but turn the aperture ring counter-clockwise.
