Hello iam lookin to buy 4 sony cyber shot dsc-w55 cameras and thay all have somthing wrong with them heres what it says is wrong with them
1st )gives a lens error message, Powers On, In excellent physical condition
2nd ) Powers on, Takes Pictures, Missing Battery Cover, Shutter is stuck out, Missing the shutter button. (was able to test using a pen)
3rd ) Powers on, Takes Pictures, Missing Battery Cover, Shutter is stuck out, Missing the shutter button. (was able to test using a pen)
4th ) Powers on, gives a lens error message, lens stuck, some scratches on body
Unless you can get them free , don't waste you time on them
they were a cheap camera to start with

Hey I just have the same problem, them recently I very lightly tapped it (against the bottom of the camera, holding it upright) and boom, it works again. See here some other people which did the same and worked:

I think is just a problem with the alignement of the lens,
