Thanks for taking the time to check this out! Earlier today I was shooting an interview and I couldn't get the wireless microphone to work so I just decided I would figure it out later and use the Audio 2 that the boom mic would pick up. Later I tried to figure it out and go figure I dug myself deeper and now I'm not getting any audio from Audio 1 or 2. Can you please walk me through the levels each switch needs to be on, on the audio panel so that both the cordless mic works and the boom mic works? I'm using a Samson T32M transmitter which corresponds with a Samson UHF M32 receiver. Thanks again!
Hi,
Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".
The Sony PD170 is not an everyday equipment, nonetheless, I will assume that on the Sony DSR PD170:
Assuming that your boom mic is a conventional dynamic, on the Audio Control Panel, pls set:
This is of course assuming that both the boom mic and the output of the Samson UHF M32 receiver are set to MIC level. In some instances the Samson UHF M32 receiver requires a LINE setting. The only time the +48 is set to ON is when the mic that is used/plug in requires phantom power such as condenser types. If the mic or the Samson UHF M32 receiver requires power then this should be switched ON otherwise, there will be no audio coming in. Though most M32 uses a 9 volts battery.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
