INBOX SHOWS 1 UNREAD EMAIL AND NOTHING THERE

MY INBOX SHOWS ONE UNREAD EMAIL AND WHEN I OPEN IT , TELLS ME INBOX IS EMPTY

    i tryed that didn't work . i also made sure that there were no emails unread in my folders ,but today there was right number of emails to number listed but when finally deleted them still showed 1 unread , but no emails there . thanks for trying

    i have the same problem, i tried to move all inbox messages to a temp folder, but still the "i unread mail" reminder, still show up, i hope this is just a temporary glitch from Yahoo

    this problem finnaly resolved itself / didn't do anything / thanks to all who looked at this

    inbox shows there are 2 unread messages but is empty and all messages in folders are read

    New emails show in Unread folder, but they do not appear in my Inbox. I have tried just about everything. Made sure filters are turned off, all applicable updates, etc.

    It's ****. Showing unread messages doesn't do anything. I also have a draft message that won't show, and won't go away.

    In my inbox is shows that I have 1 unread email but there are no unread emails. All emails show as read except this one which has been proven to be very irritating the last three days.

    I just fixed this. I had a continual 9 emails listed on the header, but nothing in my inbox. I read a solution here, and went back to yahoo email page. Sure enough, 9 emails I had saved were saved as unread. I marked them as read and ta-daa, I'm cured. Thanks for saving me from myself. lol

I have deleted all my mails in all folders...but yet there is still 1 unread message..there is nothing left in my folders inbox, spam, drafts, sent

Download mozilla fire fox, sign in to yahoo mail and sort the messages to "unread". that should remove the spam mail

My tab is telling me i have 72 unread but no in my inbox
Yes, this type of problem happed to me too. Actually, this is not a problem. What happens, sometime junk mails comes that has delivery date in the distant past. So, these mails are not shown your current page. If you go to older emails you will find them.

So what you can do is:
1. Click on the "Next" link at the bottom of the page.
2. Keep clicking the link until you get those unread mail.
3. You can also click on "Unread" link at the top of the Inbox page.

This will show you the unread mails.

I have 120 mails but when i open the inbox to read the mails i tells me there is an error but i does not even show the inbox,sent,draft nothing is displayed apart from hi hope
try in a different browser and check...

filter the mails as unread first and then view all

but in a different browser it should work fine

This means that the unread emails in your inbox are new emails.

this means you should open them unless you know who they are sent from.

No I didn't, still the message indicater shows message in INBOX, but INBOX is empty?????????????
The indicator takes into account of other mail folders. For example if you have unread deleted items, unread draft items, RSS feeds, etc. then also message indicator will not show empty.

Login to your mail go to inbox. Below the title inbox there will be options like All,fromcontacts,unread etc

Click unread and you can see those messages.

Inbox shows 1 unread message even when inbox is empty
Open the inbox and click View All Messages, click unread messages, if you have any on the last page as late arrivals or in folders they will show. This has been happening to all of us while yahoo has been upgrading the classic mail. Yahoo says this is a glitch and will clear on it's own. Did for all of us. Refreshing the page, restarting the comp and clicking on the number don't work. Only Yahoo and time. When it happened to me, my mail alerts also quit working so I had to continually look to see if I had new mail. It was maddening, then all of a sudden one day it cleared and my alerts were restored all on it's own.
