We just switched out to new cartridges and now there are two orange lights blinking and won't print. Tried to take the ink cartridges back out to clean them even though they are new but could not get them out.
An interesting aside is that if one or the other cart is removed, the appropriate LED goes out and the other blinks. At least some of the sensing circuitry sees the cart.
Anyone have a schematic of the cart/printer electronics?

i have replace the color head but still bliking the orange light
Same thing here. Both cartridges were replaced with HP brand - nada. I cleaned the cartridge and printer side interface for the cartridge (the brass looking dots and connections) with denatured alcohol - no joy, still blinking.
Something to note is that if I remove one or the other cartridge, the appropriate LED goes out but the other still blinks.
The circuit that senses "fresh ink level" must be either hung up or the firmware must be reset some other way.
What is needed is a schematic of the ink cart to printer electronics. That would at least provide a clue to where to start poking around.
on hp deskjet 5740 replaced both left light out right light flashing. even if i remove both inks & replace with new right light still flashes.
