Incline display works bit it will not actually move. I tired to calibrate it, but that did not work either.
NordicTrack is one of the best machines in the market. But it also shows some issues. When my Nordictrack treadmill calibration failed I tried two techniques and that worked for me.
However what to do if incline is not working well? Definitely, you have to calibrate the incline as I did. But If you had already tried and calibration didn't work well. Here is the answer how to calibrate the incline then.
There are two types of treadmills.
1. Having a touchscreen console
2. Non-touch screen console
Ways to Calibrate treadmill having a Non-touchscreen console
There are two ways of calibrating treadmill having non-touchscreen console feature.
i) Press the Stop and Speed up button altogether and insert the key.
ii) Press the Stop Button and insert the key
So here let's see how to calibrate using stop and speed up button altogether.
Remove the safety key from console. Press and hold the stop and speed up together. While you are pressing the stop button insert the safety key. Now, treadmill might have been calibrated. Now press incline up or incline button to start the calibration process. Now remove the safety key from the console.

How to confirm that treadmill is Calibrated
When you start calibrating the process it will go in this way. The treadmill will move to its highest level and its low level. Wait till the calibration process completes. Once the machining process completes it means calibration is done.
Safety Measures
For safety, while calibrating the incline don't stand on the treadmill.
I have a NordicTrack C2155. Incline not working. There is a schematic inside. There are red, white, & black wires from the circuit board to the incline motor. Unplug the treadmill and have a licensed electrician construct a flying lead cord with a male spade on neutral and female spade plug on hot. Connect neutral to white and hot to where either red or black were connected. Plug in to see if the motor runs. Careful to remove power when the incline reaches its limit and reverse direction. If the motor runs in both directions, the motor is good. Follow the black two conductor wire to the circuit board and unplug from board. Check continuity across this switch. Run motor and this should toggle off and on. If all this checks out then the problem must be with the circuit board. On my treadmill, the schematic says that +5v should supply the sensor, but I only get +3.3v, which is TTL level. The drive motor sensor supply is +5v. The incline motor doesn't even show a sign of trying to run. Either the output transistor is burnt out or the low voltage caused an error so that it does not try to run the motor. Either way, I'm quite certain that a new controller board will remedy the problem.
I was able to use an external power supply for the 5vdc incline sensor voltage. The board was only putting out 2.3vdc. It works fine now.
I used an old 5vdc phone charger and connected it to the red and black sensor wire NOT the red and black motor wires ( those are ac voltage and not what you need. The sensor on my machine was a red black and green. The green is the pulse feedback to the controller.
Thanks! I'll give that a shot. Much better than buying a new controller on eBay for $150 when I only spent $200 on the treadmill.

SOURCE: i have a nordic track a2350,and the incline wont
I've seen this problem several times, but many things can cause it. It's most likely the motor control board, but it could be a number of things. I'd have it looked at.

This is usually related to the control pwb which is located under the motor "hood".
You can get this part from iconservice.com by going to the replacement parts section of the site and entering the model number of your machine, Which is located on the lower frame assembly below the walk belt. After you have receieved the part you can follow this procedure to repair it.

SOURCE: Calibration Mode for nordic track treadmill model
Hello there, The calibration mode for a nordictrack is as follows.
With the safety key out, hold the stop and speed up arrow at the same time while inserting the key. Release the buttons. You will then be in diagnostics.
You then press the stop button one time.
If you are trying to calibrate the incline you just need to hit the incline up button and the machine will do an incline calibration. The unit should go all the way to the top and return to the bottom when completed.
If you need to calibrate the speed you will need to press and hold the speed up button on the console until the display reads 85. The machine should then be running at its maximum speed (either 10 or 12 mph depending on the unit)
The display will show a speed on the console and should be within .3 of the maximum speed.
If it is not then it will need to be adjusted using a potentiometer on the control pwb.
To access the control pwb open the hood cover. Should be 3 screws in the rear of the cover and 2 screws on the bottom of the unit.
Once inside the cover locate the control pwb. On the control pwb there will be a yellow/orange potentiometer. This is the adjusting part.
Use a non-metallic phillips head screw driver to adjust the potentiometer either clockwise for faster or counterclockwise for slower.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck! Tim

I know it's been months, but, if you still have this problem try this: 1. remove the philips screws holding the motor/belt/electronics cover on: you can lay the whole thing on it's side and remove them from the bottom. there's two in the front and two on the sides.
2. Obviously, unplug the unit! before doing anything. lay the unit back on it's feet (normal position)
3. Find the incline motor assembly. it will be int he middle of everything. black tube thingy.
4. take a cordless drill with a flat head screw driver bit, and turn the incline motor CCW. until the bed is flat.
5. what what I have read, you should shop for a new incline sensor. these fail before the motor does.

Probably 85% of the time, it's the sensor.
1. remove the screws from the bottom of the enclosure case. 2 or 3 in the front and 1 on each side
lay it back down, and power it up, and actuate your incline. watch the end of the motor, to see if the shaft is moving. It probably IS turning but only a little bit. NOT enough. In this case I'd say it is the sensor.
2. Unplug the unit of course.
3. the incline motor is in the middle of the pack,..you'll see a black tube looking thing sticking up.
4. on the bottom side of this, you will see,..or feel for a black square sensor attached to bottom of the motor casing.
5. follow the wires and unplug this.
6. pry it off with a screw driver. Remove incline assembly, if you cannot reach it.
7. replace sensor and try it again.
if the MOTOR does NOT turn when using the incline buttons, the problem backs up to possibly a bad control board. or a bad motor on your incliner, however, i'd say that's the last thing to go.
Order of failure: 1. sensor 2. control board 3. motor.
good luck
