No known words can describe the frustration I am feeling right now. Ive had my 80 gig for a few years and have collected much content, most of which I wouldnt be able to replace or resync. I connected my zune to a friends laptop and tried to add a single album to the computer's collection. Ever since, every bit of content on it gives me the slap-in-the-face error message "item cannot be played or is missing", including music, pictures, and videos. All album art is blank, as well as the picture and video icons. No clue as to why this happened or what caused it. I'm desperate for a solution besides erasing all content. If anyone has found a way to correct this apparently common error, please spread the word. As for the Zune Co., above all else, you should really consider trying to find the source of the error and correcting it if at all possible. If nothing else, at least invest some time into how to prevent this error from occurring on the next model to come out, rather than increasing the amount of gigs or screen resolution, etc., for the simple fact that those who are experiencing this problem are getting pretty ******* ****** off and frustrasted, just as I am, and might just trade up for a ******* ipod. Seriously, this error code **** is ridiculous. At least consider it.....you know, if you would like to continue manufacturing and selling your product. Maybe you should ask Apple for some much needed advice...............
As a last resort or if you are receiving error code C00D2772, erase the
device, and then sync your content again. To do this, follow these
steps:

It may be due to Non-safe removal of Zune device from PC during transfer of files.you may have deleted some music from your PC hard disk,which you tranfered omay be only the fake song/album file or artwork.check whether the file u trying to play is available in your pc.if you have downloaded directly to Zune then try again.

I just found out I have the same problem, just after I updated to the new version. I can play music on my zune that I got from somewhere besides Zune Marketplace, but anything I bought from there, I can't play on my zune.
