Trying to set up Wii Fit board. Appears to sync OK, I input height, age and date of birth then it says it will start the assessment but I next get a message 'step off and press A' - this message keeps repeating every time I press A and the only way to get out of the situation is to press the home button
I have exactly the same problem. I've tried setting it up when standing on it then stepping off - din't know what else to do!I have exactly the same problem. I've tried setting it up when standing on it then stepping off - din't know what else to do!
I phoned Nintendo UK, got the impression this is not uncommon, the assistant said it was probably a sticking sensor and to return it to the store. I have sent it back and am now awaiting a new one.I phoned Nintendo UK, got the impression this is not uncommon, the assistant said it was probably a sticking sensor and to return it to the store. You have to insert a wii fit game and bypass all the stuff until the game is ready to play.Open the battery compartment on the Wii board and open the large door on the front of the Wii console.Press the sync button on the board, then press the sync button at the top of the console compartment. The fit board light should stay steady blue.If it doesn't,try it again. When the fit board stays steady blue,it is synched.
You need to sync it,it sounds like.Open the battery compartment to the fit,and the large door on front of the console.Press the red sync button on the fit board then press the red sync button inside the door of the console. It may take a couple tries.I can't remember how long it gives you but it will work.Good luck and game on!
iv got the same problem too, iv resync it and nothing, wiped the wii clean and started again and nothing (mine went down just b 4 xmas and 'santa' got my boy the wii fit plus and he ant been able 2 play it yep) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE some1 help
Here you have different procedures on what to do if you get that error message. Please get back to me if nothing works.
The exact procedure is:
• Even if the battery level is strong, try the following:
Remove the batteries in the Wii Fit Board for at least 1 minute…… better 15
Try these steps!
1
Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the
front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a
few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into
the wall outlet.
2 Turn the power of the Wii console ON. When
you see the Health and Safety screen, open the small flap on the front
of the Wii console to find a red button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold
the SYNC Button down for 15 seconds. This will clear all the syncs on
the Wii, allowing you to get a clean start to begin the process
described below.
3 After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:
a
With the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on
the back of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below the
batteries.
b Press and release the small red button just below
the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the
Wii Remote will blink.
c Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).
d
When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is
complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1
through 4).
4 Start the game from the Wii Menu, then sync the Wii Balance Board from the opening screen of the game.
Insert a Wii Balance Board compatible game disc in the Wii console.
Use
the Wii Remote to select the Disc Channel from the Wii Menu, then
select "Start" to begin the game. Press the A Button to bypass the
wrist strap screen.
Open the small SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console.
Remove the Battery Cover on the bottom of the Wii Balance Board.
Press and release the SYNC button on the Wii Balance Board. The blue light on the board will start blinking.
Press and release the red SYNC button on the Wii console while the blue light on the board is still blinking.
The blue light will stop blinking and stay on steady once the syncronization is complete.
Fore more detailed information (including pictures) on how to sync the Wii Balance Board, click here.
If you are still unable to sync your Wii Balance Board, please call 1-800-255-3700 so that they may assist you further.
Are you pointing at the calendar with the wii remote?
Other than that... you might want to try re-syncing the remote with the wii, or change the batteries in it.
If none of that works, try cleaning the disc, a tiny bit of dish soap and a dribble of water should do the trick.
If all fails, something in wrong with the disc or the remote.
I have found that every so often, especially while stepping on the
board, the Wii Fit would get disconnected. I did a little research and
found some interesting clues to why it might be happening. I had a
theory. Since the batteries are at the bottom of the board I thought
the vibration of stepping plus the pull of gravity might be loosening
the battery connections enough for the board to lose power temporarily.
To test my theory I made a shim out of cardboard from a cereal box to
hold the batteries firmly in place. This seemed to have done the trick
since I have not had the problem since. I created a template you can get from my site http://www.everythingtech.net/2009/03/wii-fit-board-connectivity-fix/
