To connect to the internet on your PSP, you need a Wireless Router or Wireless Access Point. Once you have a wireless one, you should know the name of your router. That's what an SSID (Service Set Identifier) is.
Once you know this information you should be able to find your router on your PSP. Once you do you should have a password on your router so no one you don't know can use your internet. When adding a connection on your PSP you will also need to enter the password for your router. You can use WEP, WPA-PSK (TKIP) or WPA-PSK (AES). WPA-PSK (TKIP) or WPA-PSK (AES) have very high security and WEP has a lower security.
Once you have added your connection, just type an address and surf! Not all websites will load because some require too much memory.

Assuming you have Official SONY PSP Firmware, Update to the latest version by going to Settings>Network Update. Locate your router and use it as the network connection.
Download the needed files and update by going to Game>Memory Stick>PSP Update.

Once you finish Update, go to Network>Internet Radio>About Internet radio. It will take you to a website to download the files needed and will install to your Memory Stick.

To put music on your Memory Stick, the Music must be MP3, AAC, M4A or WMA format.
Open your memory stick on your computer by pluggin in a USB cable to your PSP and going to Network>USB Connection or you can put the memory stick in a card reader.
Once in the root of your memory stick, there should be a folder called "Music". Put your music in there or in one more folder inside that. Two folders inside of each other will not be playable.

Place videos in the "Video" folder on the root of your memory stick.
Videos need to be MP4 format. 368X208 Highest MPEG4 Codec, or 480X272 x264 or AVC codec.

Assuming you have a DLINK wireless router; go to your internet browser and type in: "10.1.1.1" without inverted commas and if it asks for username and password, the default is "admin" and "admin"

    Once your in.
    Click HOME and click Wireless
Select Enable AP (Access Point) Tick
The SSID is the name of your router. You should change it to be able to determin which router is yours.
    Leave Channel on 6
    Leave SSID Broadcasting On Enabled
Use WPA or WPA-PSK whioch is supported on PSP
    WEP should be on Enable
    Leave Key Type on default
    Key length can be chosen
Enter a key in Key 1 textbox
Click Apply and Reboot your router.

If this is not the the router you use, reply and ill give you instructions.

Wat is ssid

SSID is the name of the access point or router through which you connect to the Internet wirelessly. If you are at a WI-FI hot spot where a free wireless connection is provided, then you will not have to worry about entering a SSID. When setting up a wireless connection with a router in your home or business, you will be given or asked to create your own SSID. To be able to connect to the Internet wirelessly, it will be necessary to know the 32-character password that is the SSID.

My PSP internet connection not supported to my access point.

The SSID is the NAME of your Routers connection. So you need to know your WiFi connections Name, That's the "Access point" Security, Is IF you assigned a WEP/WAP KEY, when the router was first setup. If NO Key is set, that is what it means "Unsecured",
You need to get a Netgear router manual, for your exact model, it shows all in pictures how to do it.

HOW DO YOU GET ON LINE WITH A PSP

Step1 – Go to Settings and then select Network settings
Step2 – Select Infrastructure Mode and start a [New Connection]. By setting up in Infrastructure Mode, you will be able to take advantage of the more exciting features of the PSP, such as browsing the Internet and playing games online with your friends.
Step3 – Access the WLAN Settings and select scan to search for an SSID of nearby access points. If you find more than one access point, simply connect to the one with the strongest signal.
Step4 – Once an SSID is found, select it (make sure you don’t rename it) and move to the WLAN Security Settings. You should note that if the access point is using WEP encryption, you will need to enter the WEP key manually (when the access point is detected, it will display the type of encryption it is running. WEP key should be displayed on your router. If it displays none, simply move onto the next step.
Step5 – Now you have a couple of choices of either Easy or Custom in Address Settings menu. I suggest you selecting the Easy option which will complete the Infrastructure Mode set-up automatically.
Step6 – Choose your Connection Name and enter it. A Setting List will be displayed. Press x button to save settings.
Step7 – Test Connection to make sure everything works. If all is okay, Network Settings will display Connection Name, Signal Strength, SSID, BSSID, Channel, Security and IP Address.
In a nutshell there we are, 7 simple steps to connect your PSP to the internet using a wireless router to enable you to start surfing the internet, playing games online with friends, exchanging pictures and downloading your favourite RSS channels.
