Water overfill

The A10 has a semi-sealed tank that keeps +1 pot of water heated and ready to brew. Pouring in a full pot of cold water will fill the top tray and allow a slow trickle of cold water into the top which forces hot water to over flow into the brew basket. This continues until all the cold water drains into the heater tank. So the brew is matched volume per volume. UNLESS the tank was empty or not filled prior to brewing. Follow the brewing instructions from Bunn (on line for *FREE* download at Bunn.com)
* If it leaks (from the bottom) only when you pour in water. Then your pouring it too fast and over flowing the fill tray. slowdown, watch the level in the tray. do not fill past the lid.
* If it leaks just sitting (not brewing) then there is a hole in the tank. Call for service.
* If it leaks after filling the tray half way. then the top of the tank has a leak, loose, cracked, or missing gasket. There is quite a few gaskets on the lid. Call for service.
* Final; Leaks are always bad around electrical equip. Best to unplug and call for service to be safe.

PS. Check your using the correct size decanter for this brewer. If it's a 10 cup brewer then make sure all the decanters in the office is also 10 cup. Pouring a 12 cup pot into brewer will have 12 cups of coffee come out (over flowing the 10 cup pot.) Note that not all decanters are made the same size. Other brands may be different. Test by filling a pot with water (from faucet) then pouring directly into pot in question. It should match and not under fill nor over fill.

I bought a white Bunn GR-X home 10 cup coffee maker at a yard sale. My husband is in Afghanistan and has been wanting one for a long time. I got home and poured maybe 10 cups of water into it, turned it on...

It takes 2 full decanters to fill the tank. You fill the tank with 1 full decanter of water and pour it into the top and close the lid-wait 3 minutes. Then fill the decanter again and pour it into the machine and close the lid. Plug it in and wait 15 minutes for the water to heat it up. Then you will be ready to brew coffee. You will pour in 4-10 cups of water at the top and have your filter basket ready with filter and grounds. In 3 minutes, you will have your coffee. If you have any questions, please call customer service at 800-352-2866.

Grx Bunn coffee brewer will not brew. I've followed all directions carefully. I've waited almost 30 min for it to heat up I've added more water and still nothing. Now I have been waiting for about an hour...

It sounds like the tank isn't full. It takes 2 full decanters of water to fill the tank in the bank. After pouring in 10 cups of water, close the lid and wait 3 min. Then open up the lid and pour in another 10 cups of water and close the lid. Then turn the vacation switch on and wait 15 min. Now you are ready to brew coffee. Place your grounds and filter in the funnel basket and pour in 4-10 cups of cold water and place decanter on warmer plate. Close the lid and in 3 min you will have a pot of coffee. If this doesn't happen, please call 800-352-2866 and we will be happy to assist you.

I mislaid my instruction booklet, how do I clean my 10 cup home coffeemaker? Bunn coffeemaker purchased from Tim Horton's.

With your brewer still turned on and full of water, pour 1 quart of white vinegar into the top and place the decanter on the base and close the lid. Allow the vinegar to stay in there for 2 hours. Then you will need to flush out the machine with 8-10 decanters of water. There is a manual located on the website www.bunn.com. Select @ home then go to products. Select the model and then there is an option to download the manual. Or you can call customer service with the model and code date and a manual can be sent out to you.
