After installing new video card, monitor is no longer being recognized by the computer. Same issue as the fellow who posted this. Not sure if the bogus EDID is really the issue or not.

Sounds like your monitor has croaked. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend or family member just to see if it works. If it works, your monitor is bad. If the borrowed monitor has the same issues then your Video Card in the computer is bad and needs to be replaced.

First thing I would try will beusing this monitor with another PC using the same the same setup to see if it works OK. We need to narrow down the cause of the problem first since you have three parts that can be bad; Monitor, DVI cable, PC Video card/PC. It is just a process of elimination to locate the problem.

Samsung monitor blue flashing light, black screen

Hello,

The picture board of your monitor has developed fault. That is why the screen is black.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity, because the fault is not something you can fix in other not to complicate issues..

The repairer will help diagnose and replace the faulty picture board and your monitor is back and better.

Take care.

My monitor will no longer start up it just has a black screen

I estimate around $75~100 depend on hourly rate or less, more likely to have bad caps in the power supply, if the shop is real good, they should be able to fix it in less than an hour, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Flashing screen when i first turn on my SamsungSyncMaster 2232 bw

I had a similar problem with my LCD computer screen. I took it apart and noticed a capacitor that was raised up on the flat end and appeared to be leaking a substance. Replaced it with a similar capacitor and works fine, for three years now.

Difficulty getting monitor to display when computer powers up

The Problem may be due to the defective inverter unit inside the monitor. Dry to resolder if any dry joint on the inverter PCB or replace the inverter board.

Monitor is black and blue light flashing

Boot from safe mode and try a different pixel/color arrangement. Obviously a lower pixel and color setting.
