Hi, I have just bought a second-hand Panasonic CRT tv Model 32PB50 for use in student lodgings, complete with Sky box and VHS recorder. The (new) house has a standard co-ax socket as well as a communal aerial Sky outlet. Problem is there is no instruction manual and I don't understand why I am only getting the Sky introductory page. All I want for starters is the standard free-to-view channels, BBC1&2 , ITV, Ch4 etc. Don't really want to subscribe to Sky yet, although there is a viewing card with the Sky box. Can anybody give me the Idiots Guide to setting up?

I am glad to assist you fully. I need the complete model of the TV and i will be able to tell you exactly how to hook it up. What connection/cable are you using from the cable box?
Thanks,
Lee

Try unplugging the DMR-E85 power cord. It is important that you unplug it from the back of the recorder, not the wall. Leave it unplugged for 10 or 15 minutes. For good measure disconnect the cable 'in' connection as well. Once both lines are plugged back in it will go through its self-check diagnostics. Leave it alone for awhile (give it time to consider the error of it's ways). If you are lucky, when you turn it back on it will ask you to verify the channel lineup. If this does work, and all the channel info is correct, press 'enter' (lineup 1 highlighted). Good luck! This is an awesome machine, WHEN IT WORKS!

The SC-HT500 is only for use in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and a few other places - you will need at least a transformer if you want to try to use it in the US. The manual can be found here:

SOURCE: Simple question?? how do I connect my Panasonic subwoofer to my denon receiver?
I have a very similar problem with the same exact Panasonic sub. I went to Best Buy and Radio Shack looking for an adapter, and they basically told me that one does not exisit. Apparently, Panasonic designed the home theater system specifcally so that it could not work if any part of the entire system was ever seperated.
