Give up mate, This MP3 player is total garbage, many MP3 just wont play and the Archos Service can\'t help. Archos does not provide an firmware update for this device, even if is poorly working. So, this product is useless as the Archos service. Don\'t buy any Archos products or you will regret.

Howdy, a bit of a late answer, but go into music (or go into files, then choose the folder full of music you want to play)
Then when a song is playing, hold the M button for a while (can take anything up to 15 seconds) then you will see a menu come up. First option should be "Repeat M" (I assume M=mode) anyway, select that and scroll along with the + button until you get to "All Rand"

If your archos 605 is in recovery mode I beleave the firmware(software) would need to be reloaded.
