IOS devices such as the iPad and iPhone do not support Java or Flash. I believe you can get flash working if your device is jailbroken, but by default there is not much you can do.

Though your ideas are Windows related, but still if you are considering a Java Installation in Android Firmware,
You can install Java in Android as App if that helps.

Tap Play Store--Type java in the search field,
Tap Java Icon,
Tap Install,
Wait and let the system Download and Install the Java App.

Use the App to your requirement.

That's what you can try under Android Influence.

I cannot get the Literati to install the driver on my computer, nor can I find a driver installation online. Help.

There are no drivers for the Literati. You can try updating the firmware to 1.9 to see if it fixes the problem. To update, connect the Literati to your network via WiFi. The update will be pushed to you.

We recently purchased an Archos 700C Home tablet on the assumption that it could be used to play games and watch videos on the net. This is the reason I bought this for my wife for our anniversary. When...

Generally the OS does not support JAVA, but there are forums out there dedicated to making ROMS and OS manipulations for this specific tablet.
As for asking for phone service when downloading, it sounds like you've missed a setting somewhere, the tablet is looking for service when it should be using the WIFI or whatever you are using to download things.

I can not get my literati to join with my network

It needs the latest firmware 1.9 or 2.0 for the wireless to work correctly. The solution is to get the usb to work first. Plug and unplug the usb, try powering on with usb plugged in until you get the pc to recognize the drive in the literati. Once you get to this point you have it made. Browse the drive and find the "Desktop Installers" folder run the windows install - the pc will then go out to the internet and get the desktop software version that can update the literati. Once the desktop software finishes installing it will tell you that the literati must be updated. Let it do it. Power off literati or reset it. When it comes up again the desktop software will say there is another update. This one is a big one. After it finishes Power off or reset literati again and it will load the newest firmware and the device works much better afterward. Also, you might want to keep it plugged in to power while you do this - Don't want it to lose power during firmware update.

I cannot connect my Literati to WIFI

Ok! This is what I fund out personally. The WiFi connection needs to be a non-hot Wifi network. Meaning certain Wifi connections have a security lock preventing any file transfers. I tried several locations to make a connection (Coffee shops, Mc D's, Library, Work, etc.). The Best wy to connect your Literati is to find a friend who has a WiFi ruouter and ask him/her of there password temporarly.

Now you need to enable the Wifi under the settings area by hitting the menu button ans scroll down to the settings tab. select the Wifi or wireless option. Enable the Wifi and your unit should start scanning the area networks. This is where you'll find your friends link or an open unsecure network. Do not select any links that have a pad lock unless your know there password. Once you join, wait about 1 minute and the unit will prompt you to update the software. From here it all down hill..

I just got the Literati. I am not able to pick up any Wi-Fi at my home, or even using my Droid as a Hotspot. I installed all the desktop software, thinking I might be able to just buy and download...

We solved this issue by turning off the security on our hotspot. It needs to say "open", not "wpa" or "personal". This fix will however leave your network vulnerable. we just turned our security back on after downloading. Good Luck.
